looking for some help and advice plz

hello im looking to grow a few plants 5 at the most and was wondering a few things like if a 1-2 400watt hps/MH will be good enough or should i go with a 1000watt one? im also gunna have 2 14watt blue spec led panels just to help a lil. im also wondering about soil id like the use the same from seedling to adult i herd of FFOF and was considering that but didnt know if i could use that thru its entire life. and if anyone has used the brands apollo or ipower for there ballast and hoods could you tell me which one is good. i was also wondering if the leds would be enough alone to start the seedlings off till they are a few days old? and if i could put the seedlings into thos cardboard like cups( cant think of the name but there material is like the egg cartons that arnt made of Styrofoam.

i am a newbie so all the info will be great i was thinking if i go with 2 400watt i could use 2 diff MH bulbs i think i saw one thats like deep/dark blue and another light/white blue maybe run them tog for veg phase
