    my problem with long plants

Thanks for your help in advance,

i am growing acapulco gold 4 plants in 1.20 x 1.20 meters grow box.İn my previous attempt my plants went too tall such as 1 meter since they should have been maximum 75 cm so i dont want to encounter with same sitiution.so most probably the problem related with the distance of plants to the light (i am now in vegetative pahse 2 and using 300watt blue light)distance with plants and light is 1 meter almost. So in some videos on youtube i noticed that growers use nettings or string bag to stop them go too tall.if i use the same way do you think that my plant stop growing to height consequently i have bigger buds...

by the way i grow them in water not in soil

    Pls help me on that.....

I'm no expert, but yes, your light was way too far from the plants. I usually keep mine 6-10 inches away from the light source.

The netting is called a "Trellis". I think some people call them SCROGS (something like that), but if you search for Trellis, you will find out where to buy them. You have to trim the top/tip part so the plant stops growing straight up and starts growing out from the left and right side. The trellis (netting) is used to help stablize the plant as it grows from both left and right sides. This way the plant will grow out and not up. Then you have a larger cola top.

Try Bushmaster, it keeps them from stretching as much, but make sure and follow directions and ONLY use at the start of flowering. I use on strains that stretch a lot during flowering.

All strains will stretch during flower, period. The strain your growing looks like it takes 70-75 days to flower and is sativa dominant. Dude, you have too much weed packed in your box. I have grown quite a few sativas and they typically stretch about 2.5 times during the first 3-4 weeks of flower; some even a bit longer.. Some people may say BS, but you may have better results getting rid of a couple of plants. Sativa's really like to grow like a Christmas tree.. If you're still in veg, you can start pruning. I do this ALL the time.. The plant in the photo is on a cart that is about .5 x 1.0 M (2' x 4').. This is a Larry OG Kush that was FIM'd.. At the beginning of flower (day 1) it was maybe 6" above the trellis.. The carts next to each other in the 2nd photo would have about the dimension of your cabinet.. that's 3 plants. The AG you have will grow similar to the larger plant. If you provide a bit more info and pics you may get some more targeted advice. Peace, Farmer Rich

I will also say that your lights were probably way too far away from your plants. My favorite strain is White Widow, who grows much like a pure sativa. She is a leggy thing, and without a lot of care she can get way too tall for my tent. With fluorescents, you should get those lights right down close to the plants all through veg... no more than 4 inches away. Your plants will love it, and they will stop reaching so much for the light.

Careful use of the FIM technique or supercropping can turn your long legged sativa into a respectable bush that can be very effective in the flowering room, lessening your need for so many plants as well as keeping the overall height to a manageable level. Here is a picture of the latest White Widow bush that I have created. By repeatedly trimming the upper growth using the FIM method, I have encouraged all of the side growth in this plant to rise to the top, and now will send it to flower to develop approximately 16 kolas. This will be a very hungry plant, devouring all the nutes that I will be able to throw at it. It will remain fairly short however, 1/2 a meter or so, because it has never been more than 4 inches from a light and all the nodes are tight for a sativa. It will stretch about 40% in flower, but still very manageable.
