UR Drug Screening 35105N SAP 550 W/NIT question and split samples

I have been able to find threads on here describing what this test is going to be. I also have been able to find threads on here that say taking male or female urine in for a substitution doesn't make any difference. However, there are just a couple of unanswered questions that are bothering me. I'm going in to Quest tomorrow to take the test described in the title. Apparently the NIT portion of the test is to check for adulterants. The urine I will be subbing is from my sister who had a baby 2.5 months ago. She is breast feeding which she tells me has her hormone levels all over the place. Will her hormone levels make anything come up that shouldn't be there (adulterant)? I used her urine to sub for a different job a little over a week ago but haven't heard back yet and the job I'm testing for tomorrow is a much better job that I don't want to miss my chance at. My last sub effort went well, and was at Labcorp. They did not do a split sample. Does that mean that it passed the initial test so they didn't have to send it for further testing? Also, if it was a fail, wouldn't the lab contact me as well as the employer to ask about any medication I have been taking? I know the moderators on here are no non-sense as far as answering the same questions over and over, but as much as I've searched on here I haven't found these answers. If I could just get help with these answers it would allow me to sleep tonight instead of staying up worrying...thanks everyone!!!

UR Drug Screening 35105N SAP 550 W/NIT question and split samples

Youre worrying yourself over nothing. Your sisters sample was fine, providing that she had not consumed an abundant amount of fluids, and that she was drug-free prior to giving you the sub sample. The fact that she is a nursing mother is totally irrelevant when it comes to drug testing. Drug testing is not CSI. Theyre not going to run your sample through some Ultrex Digitech MasterDynamic 5000 supercomputer and declare "Oh, this sample came from a nursing mother".
Drug tests are just not conducted in that manner.

Split-samples work like this: Sample is split into Bottle A and Bottle B. Bottle A is the sample that gets tested while Bottle B gets put into storage. If bottle A tests positive for a particular drug(s) on the confirmation test, and the donor decides to mount a challenge to the result, then Bottle B gets tested. Again, as long as your sub donor was indeed drug-free and not overhydrated, you have nothing to worry about.

And yes, if a sample tests negative on the initial assay, the test is over then and there as a "pass" - no lab confirmation test will be performed. It would be a huge waste of time and money on the part of both the lab and client to do so.

If you dont hear any word from your employer, call them up and ask for your "start date". Keep the convo limited to that topic and never inquire about the test results. That would just make things look suspicious if you want to be viewed as a "drug free person". Individuals who are truly drug-free never ask for their results because theres no reason to. Youd have to assume the mindset "I dont use drugs, therefore my drug test is a non-issue".

Thanks so much Toast, you were exactly who I was hoping would answer these questions. I know I worry but its just my nature. After I sub and pass tomorrow I'll be sure to let everyone on here know so if they are in a similar situation to me they can relax. One last question I haven't seen addressed that I was wondering about...if you indeed have passed the initial test and no further testing at a lab is required, why do you have to sign and watch them seal the sample like its going to be sent out, is that just a chain of command thing? This site is easily the most informative I have been able to find in my searches, and the moderators on here should be commended for the help they provide for people "like us" for free on a daily basis!

Its a Chain Of Custody procedure - for your protection as well as the collection site. With an unsealed bottle, spillages and contamination would compromise the integrity of the drug test. Without your signature, there would be no way to conclusively prove that youve submitted that sample. Sample mixups would run rampant without the donors sig (and/or initialization) .

As promised I'm posting my results.....just a little over 24 hrs. since my test at Quest and the employer contacted me to say my test came back NEGATIVE!!! Anyone worried about the validity of the advice you find on here shouldn't be, these guys give solid advice that should ease your mind as far as testing goes. The sub method that worked for me...clean urine and a hand warmer in a sock, stuffed in the jock (btw, it held perfect body temp for 1.5 hrs). Good luck to everyone on here, as for me, time to spark one up to celebrate starting my new job. Cheers :smokin:

UR Drug Screening 35105N SAP 550 W/NIT question and split samples

Burnt Toast I want to just say you are awesome and a great source of knowledge. I have not posted much on here but I have been lurking all day for the past week straight. I am in the same situation as Pops was in and am looking for some confirmation. I just took a test at labcorp with only a week notice after smoking the day before the pre-employment screen was popped on me. Got a great job offer out of the blue and of course when they asked if I could pass a drug test and background check I said absolutely. I have subbed before years ago with male urine (I'm male) and actually turned it in at 104 degrees...oops! Luckily the testing place was kind of dinky and they let me retest right after 20 mins of drinking water, what they didn't know is I saved about two ounces of the clean pee and by the time I retested, unsupervised of course, the pee cooled down and was accepted and I passed. Well that was years ago and I hadn't subbed since then, but this time I knew again subbing was my only option.

The problem was in the short timeframe I could not find any male friends that I knew were clean and would give me there piss, so my only option was my wife who is not preggo or on any birth control or prescriptions. I actually bought the CleanStream Synthetic Urine Kit with 5 oz of synth urine and a strapon bladder with tubing, heat pads, and temp strip. After reading all the posts about synth urine I could not trust it as this job meant so much. After reading mainly all of your posts about gender not mattering at all I decided to use my wife's ultra clean urine.

I went to labcorp with everything setup, urine in the bladder strapped under my boxers, heating pad etc. Test was actually very easy and laid back no supervision, no emptying pockets, no pat down, just hand washing, instructions, and fill the cup. The temp was good at 96 degrees and they accepted my sample and checked yes where it said "temp between 90-100". I am still a little worried as is my nature so here are my questions:

    1. On my original paper work it said 9 panel drug screen. However they did not do an instant test at labcorp. They took the pee, verified the temp, filled a smaller vile sealed it with a signed label and had me pour the remaining urine out in the toilet. Is this normal?
    2. On the chain of custody form it again says "yes" to temps between 90-100 with no additional comments. It also says "split specimen NO" and "Collection Observed NO" it then says specimen bottle released to FedEx. Is this normal?
    3. Then it says "Test requested by employer 729712.0001" nothing about 9 panel on the COC form. What is your opinion on this?

I feel pretty good now that I have seen POPS recent results subbing female urine but I of course am still nervous and looking for some peace of mind. The good news is the only form I signed outside of the sign in sheet which was just my name and time arrived was the COC form. At the bottom it clearly says "I authorize the collection of this specimen for the purpose of a drug screen" It goes on to say that the specimen is mine and that I allow the results to be submitted to the employer. It does not say anything about gender testing or other tests other than a "drug screen".

What are your thoughts toast? Or POPS? Or anyone who has had the same experience with subbing female urine for your own.

Thanks so much everyone, your information has really helped get me through step one and hopefully onto step two....a great new job!

The subject about gender testing has been addressed and answered numerous times throughout the DT forum. Please use the Forum Search button with the terms "gender testing" and "genetic profiling" to find those answers.

Well I guess you're just tired of answering questions on these topics. I understand that and that's fine. The gender issue was not really my question and I have read just about every post on this forum. It's no problem. I am sure I am fine and will have a great new job soon. Thanks anyway. Best to you.

Based upon what youve stated here gives off the impression that you were asking a question in regards to gender testing:

As far as your other questions go:

    1. On my original paper work it said 9 panel drug screen. However they did not do an instant test at labcorp. They took the pee, verified the temp, filled a smaller vile sealed it with a signed label and had me pour the remaining urine out in the toilet. Is this normal?
Often, the site of sample collection and the site of analysis are at different locations - likely because the former is only certified to collect samples and not to conduct analysis. No big deal here.
    2. On the chain of custody form it again says "yes" to temps between 90-100 with no additional comments. It also says "split specimen NO" and "Collection Observed NO" it then says specimen bottle released to FedEx. Is this normal?
Yep. Non-DOT tests can be either a single collection or a split collection. If a sample is deemed to be in the proper temp range, no additional comments are necessary.
Then it says "Test requested by employer 729712.0001" nothing about 9 panel on the COC form. What is your opinion on this?
Just a test inventory code number for the lab conducting analysis to refer to.
