I have heat problems in my grow box and I had the idea of separating the HPS light in a small enclosure with a sheet of acrylic glass at the bottom. The small enclosure will have a big fan sucking the heat out and displacing in another room/attic.

My main question is how much the sheet of acrylic glass will hinder the effectiveness of the light? I don't have money for a cooltube HPS right now, else I'd go that route. The acrylic glass I have right now is not perfectly see through, though I don't see why light couldn't penetrate it well enough. Does anyone have any experience with something similar?
