I've seen screen of green ( scrog ) in an outdoor grow done succesfully, where you would just train the branches to run parallel to the ground to cover a wide area. I don't think a sea of green would work so well, as the plants grown outdoors get much bigger than an indoor plant. Unless you put the plants outdoors much later in the season to limit growth. ( smaller plants, smaller yeild) I've grown small plants outdoors by waiting until late june or into july to get a 3 ft. tall plant that if put out earlier would have produced a 6 or 8 ft. plant.

As far as low oder plants, I have no idea which varieties or strains fall into that bracket.
