Best soil to use for growing cannabis?

What is the best soil to grow in? Should I buy something that has all the nutrients mixed already in it or buy a basic potting mix and make my own? And to fertalize or not to fertalize? I have been using a basic potting soil mix (I think miracle grow which I heard now that its not very good) and mixing a little of blood meal, kelp meal, worm castings, perilite, and fertilizing about every 3rd watering (about once a week) at 25% mixture. Any suggestions? thanks

I personally dont see anything wrong with mg soil. If its working for ya go with it. I use fox farm ocean forrest which is expensive but well worth it to me. Using the FFOF i dont use any nutes til after the 3rd week of flowering. Veg is just 6.5ish water.

The new rage is growing in coffee grounds. I may try that. The only real issue with miracle grow soil is the time release nutes they mix in. After they wear off though it's just another potting soil. Coconut hair is another nice soil additive.

I am a first time grower but I found a few different recipes that sound good.

    50% Peat moss or Coco
    30% of compost
    10% Pearlite
    10% Vermiculite
1/4 cup of limestone per 5 gallons of Peat moss to maintain pH level

if u want to add a boost
1 quart of water mixed with 3ml rhizotonic and some microbe lift (couldnt find out how much but im sure the container says)
this is to help promote root growth during transplant

I switched to Kellogg as I couldnt find fox farm locally. It has a lot of good organic stuff in it and I still mix in kelp meal, bone meal, blood meal, worm castings, perilite but just less of it and add fox farm nutes and they seem to be doing very well
