    Think I need a co2 system

Im growing in a grow tent and think it would be beneficial to run some co2 in the tent. I already have a small ac unit as my tent is in my garage and it gets pretty hot. I do have an exhaust fan to vent. My question is, would a co2 system benfit me and if so how do I set it up? I know I need a tank a regulator is there anything else? thanks

Think I found my answer I will try and do it the cheaper way and make my own CO2 and see if that works

Co2 works best in a sealed room, If you are running an exhaust fan constantly... your Co2 will never reach high enough levels to have a noticable impact on your plants.. because your exhaust fan is just sucking all the Co2 out.. I noticed your other thread asking about temps.. One thing I could suggest if you want to run Co2.. is to seal the exhaust system in a loop with your light only.. In other words.. fresh air comes in through a sealed duct from outside the grow room.. goes through your light fixture.. then hot air goes straight outside through another piece of ducting... Basically you dont want the fan sucking air out of the grow room at all if your running Co2.. and a sealed loop on your light should keep it cool enough if you have proper CFM running through the ducting. If your temp still needs to come down.. you may need a bigger exhaust fan! I have 4 1000w HPS running on a sealed loop like this.. and my temps stay between 80-85 with the lights on.. and NO cooling system running at all.. I have an A/C and a fan forced chiller to bring the temps down in the final few weeks.. But the sealed light system is usually enough to keep the heat down for the most part! The small A/C you were running should be more than enough to keep temps around 80-85 if your light system is completely sealed.. Co2 makes a HUGE difference at the proper levels.. so believe me when I say it is WORTH EVERY PENNY you spend to get a quality Co2 set up running in your room... good luck!
I grow food.. Not weed.. But I like weed.. So I will help you grow it as best I can ;-)

Ive got my my exhaust system sealed now just like you've described. Now that I have the intake duct taking in cooler air it ran for the last 2 nights without me having to use the portable ac unit.

Just make sure you have Co2 running in your room before you let it go like that.. If your not supplementing Co2 you NEED fresh air! Its a system.. they are both dependent on each other in order to work properly!! Good Luck!!!

Thanks I open my tent a few times a day to refresh the air and I made several bottles of small amounts of co2 using fermentation
