Hello; fellow growers. Does anyone feed their plants every watering? I was just wondering; i was going to start doing it instead of every other watering and was wanting to see if anyone else does.

Well Gardenking, fertilizing every watering is the exact nature of hydroponic growing.

I grow in soil though and DO use fert every time with the exception of leaching. You can't get nutrient lock through salt build ups if you over fertilize. I have not had this problem though since I flush with lots of plain water every 3-4 weeks (2-3 times during flowering). If you have good drainage this will work wonders for stability. Overwatering is a matter of how often (not giving plants time to use the water in soil and keeping it too damp too much of the time) not a matter of how much at once. Soil can only hold so much and the rest drains away. A good flush will keep your plants healthy.

Thanks razer. I think i'll flush mine good tomorrow because their four weeks into 12/12 then start fertilizing every watering then. Thanks bro! I know my leaves are starting to turn yellow on the bottom and then to brown and fall off. I s this normal four weeks into 12/12 or could it be they need the good flush or maybe some N?

Hey Gardenking, We can learn from each other.

Here's what I can tell you about yellowing....

If it is a Nitrogen deficiency, then the yellowing starts between the veins on the leaves (older ones first) and then stems and veins under leaf may turn purple. The worse it is, the more leaves that will fall.

Too much Nitrogen can be toxic too. Leaves will turn brown and then fall. Leaves would have been excessively green beforehand.

Could be zinc deficiency. The most common micro nutrient deficient. Growing tips develop thinner leaves and contort as they yellow. Leaf tips will discolor and burn.

Those are the most common causes. Pictures Help to identify. Do you have a digital?

Thanks razer. I'm going to give my plants a good flush this morning because their four weeks into 12/12 and the leaves are yellowing bad and turning brown and crisp. Think i'll give them a dose of peters 20 20 20 after the flush.

Sounds prudent friend. Couple questions though. Do you use that fertilizer all the time? Are you familiar with the N-P-K content?

I don't use it all the time; just this time cause i figure it may be a N defiency and thats not good just four weeks into 12/12. I use shultz 10 60 10 most of the time; and a little fish emulsion. I get the extra cash i'm going to order some good nutes.

what you're plant might have is a magnesium deficiency,mg helps build the clorophylic atoms that help the plant use nitrogen(which is needed in various amounts in all growth phases)shultz and peters are decent fertilizer's that work best when you follow the instruction's,but they dont contain any mg,feeding every watering is not a good idea either,instead water with magnesium treated water(epsom salt)disolve 1tbs to a gallon of warm water,when it cools,use it to water as usual,they should start coming around in about 10 days or so....bonbon

check that mix ratio GK,thats 1/4tsp of epsom salt,too much mg will cause a lockout too,i gotta proofread more often,sorry....bonbon
