First Grow and not looking so good. [PICS]

My friend had to get rid of some clones and so he brought over to my place, I've never taken care of plants, and had no set up what so ever, So I put an air conditioner in my room and a fan in my closet, its about 4x5 and the clones are in a humidity dome. I keep water in the dome and mist the top part of the dome every 2-3 hours.

Since he was in the hurry, I ordered a bunch of equipment for PH, Humidity, moist levels, etc but haven't received them so I give them Mineral water as our tap water smells like chlorine.
The leaves on some started turning yellow (Overwatering?) Some of the clones already died but I think He hadn't done the clones right on some of them.

At first we thought it was too hot 80+F so I turned the AC on higher a littler, and it didnt change. So i'm thinking too much water or the PH is wrong.

I've had these for about 9 days.

Forgot to add that I have some new lighting equipment coming along, currently using 35w fluorecent 2650lumen 4200k tubes. about 1foot away from clones. Got a few 400w HPS lights on the way and already have the light cooling ^_^

I went to the store and a friend works there he told me it might be nitrogen Deficiency. I added some (~1/16th of suggested dose) and backed the plants from the light as Im pretty sure they we're too close to the light (~10 inches)

If anyone else has a suggestion thatd be great as my friend brought me some bigger clones and the tips are already brownish, but you can barely tell, I have 25 plants... I jsut want one to live as this is more for experience while I get the rest of the gear.

I'll update with some new pictures soon!

Lots of them have roots so I've been adding 1/16 nutes, I've been watering much less also, which has been helping. Most of the light green/yellow leaves have gotten back to normal and the dead ones have fallen of and made new branches. The seem a lot healthier now But I will water less and see what it does, the leaves that were dead we're bone dry though. Pictures coming today.

my clones always look like they are toast lol, first the lower leaves go yellow and die but then they start growing and a couple days later the new shoot coming out is nice and green.

Those clones are using the leaves for energy to make roots. completely normal for that type of cloning style. When the roots pop out of the soil bags, then plant and feed.

I've tried many different cloning methods including hydroponic. It seems counter intuitive, but clones in soil, starting mixtures or pods need to be drenched to start, but after that they need to dry out, especially if they are under a dome. Otherwise they will rot/fail very quickly. Clones in starting pots without a dome will need to be watched carefully for wilting due to getting too dry in the first 2-3 days, so they'll need water a couple of times a day, but after that, they should start to be more self-sustaining and also be left to dry out so they will develop roots seeking moisture downward more quickly. I recommend using "Rapid Start" for quick root development. It doesn't take much and really does accelerate root growth, even on puny clones.

The bottom leaves of clones (and maturing plants) will turn yellow, that's normal. The tips of the clone leaves may also turn brown; these can just be trimmed off.

Hey guys! Plants are doing better! I`ve got loads of pictures for you all. Some are close to 6 inches tall, instead of getting HPS lights im gonna go with CFLs! Cheaper and I can get the whole 2700k - 6500k range. Anyways here are the pics and just wondering, some of the leave stems and plant stems are turning purple! I just got my PH meter today and their PH seems to be too high! (6.8-7.2) Im waiting for my PH kit to come in but as this is my first grow, im a little scared!

I`ve been feeding some nutes for the past week on and off at 1/2 strength. =D

The best pictures are the last 4.

I also forgot to mention in the post above, my strain is M39 which is SUPPOSED to be a hybrid of Northern Lights #5 and Skunk #1. Don't know if the purple is because of the genetics or what.. they all seem healthy, there's one yellowish leaf on one plant but that was from cloning and been that way before I repotted.
