Observation about faint lines
Below is a picture of two tests I took this morning from the same sample of urine. The two drug lines are of noticeably different intensities (It may not be completely evident from the picture, but they were different). Today also marks 30 days of testing clean (51 days sober). My u/a is coming up next Monday, 8/13 so I've been testing myself every morning for the past two weeks just to make sure I'm good (I'm addicted to testing myself for pot - literally!). I don't know exactly what to make of this except that this seems to be a function of the drug test itself, not my urine and reinforces the idea that a pink line is a pink line, no matter how dark or faint. Also it's relevant to note that my drug line intensity has been more or less the same since I first had a negative result 30 days ago up to now which reinforces the idea that an i/a is not capable of providing a quantitative result.

And, by using the same aliquot, it also reinforces the idea that line intensity is not proportionate to the amount of THCA that is present in the urine, despite popular belief.

Observation about faint lines
Wow this looks like my test...so glad to see. Am just now getting this faint line at 51 days clean. I am a 67 year old female who is looking at her first drug test ever in the next several weeks and have been a heavy smoker for years. I stopped for 16 years while my daughters were growing up; then they brought me back into weed when they were in college. This is of course what I've missed the most, smoking with my girls. I have to say, quitting has all been worth it and I can't wait to be finished with this and pack my first bowl of chronic! I can't express how grateful I've been for this board as I have learned so much from it and have gained so much encouragement. Thanks to the moderators for their wisdom and daily attention to posts.

The moderators here are absolutely wonder. I love the comparison picture provided, the second picture you have up is from 7/19/2012 while I believe your others are from 08/09/2012, the line on that particular test which I believe is from Target, how confident did you feel in that result? Hope all went well on your test since as you stated it was yesterday.
Where did you order your test strips from?

I'm not a moderator. Just sharing my experience, answering some of the questions I wanted answered in the early panicked stages of educating myself. I ordered those test strips from amazon, they're about $10 + s/h. you can get the First Check test kit from your local drug store, in my case CVS. That kit has a collection cup you can collect the specimen in and send it off to their labs for a free GC/MS lab test. I highly recommend doing because if you fail the initial i/a, you can mail off the sealed collection cup and have them run it through the GC/MS, it will quantify exactly what your level of THCA is and you'll know exactly how far away you are from the cut off point. In my case the sample I collected on 7/19/2012 had a "very very very VERY" faint drug line and I failed it at 21ng. I was not very confident in that ghost line. However, the test I took two days later I was pretty confident the line represented passing. I remember saying to myself, "Ah HA, there's the line". Mind you it was still much more faint than the control line. I mailed that sample off to First Checks lab and got back the result <15ng (passing).
The test kit I bought from CVS that I speak of looks like this:

****CORRECTION**** "the very very very VERY" faint drug line I got that failed was taken on 7/10/2012, NOT 7/19/2012. The picture for 7/19 is a passing line, verified via First Checks complimentary GC/MS.
