I know, I write too much sometimes. What is a short answer? :-) According to an earlier post and an article in the paper, there were 102 producer applications still pending in 2011. Earlier this year DOH finally sent letters to the applicants letting them know if they had complete applications. Only 4 of the 102 were complete. BUT, because DOH has decided we do not need any more producers (what rock do they live under?) the 4 with complete applications are just on hold. Personally, IMHO, DOH should issue licenses to the 4 no matter where they are located within the state. Patient numbers keep increasing and without either more producers or increased plant counts, there will be an even greater shortage than there is currently.
