    Force flowering to determine sex

Just for giggles I set up a grow space in the basement to see what I could do. In order to assure that I got at least two or three females I planted 10. It's been a month and they are growing at a slow rate but seem healthy. It occurred to me that they are a bit crowded because there are so many of them. My land lady said that I should put them on 12/12 to get them to flower so that I could chuck the boys and focus the light and effort on the females. I switched the light to 12/12 a couple of days ago. My question is, when should I expect to see signs of flowers?

It depends on your light and growth rate.

I saw mine within 3 days but after a month I had 2 foot plants and bushy as hell.

You might be waiting 5 days or so. Catch the females fast with a jewellers loupe, look for those white hairs.

Turning the lights from 18/6 to 12/12 and then back to 18/6 and back to 12/12 will stress the plants. Personally I would steer clear of this. you could hermie the plants.

In future if you don't have the space to veg all 8 then just buy feminised seeds. them you just plant what you need.

Talk to the member 'Cannabis-Seeds'. you will find out all you need to know about them.

    Good luck and take care

I thought about using feminised seeds but I read in many places the seeds are hermie seeds. I forgot the links to breeders who actually know how to breed genuine female seeds only. But I

been thinking of looking for real female seeds and buying them. When you grow outdoors in your back yard it makes you think what if these plants are male? Then its a waste unless the male

plants leaves are high in thc for hash making.
