    New to Hydro-Startup Questions

I am tired of dealing with termites on my plants growing outside. I am starting clones in Rockwool today for a small hydro system.
Should I do DWC or aerophonics? Will I need to purchase all three PH, EC and PPM meter? It seem that you can convert EC readings to PPM.

I have a 600 watt HPS/MH light, planning on trying 16 plants, in a 30" X 60" closet. Should I drop the number of plants down.

Honestly it one of those " if you have to ask" questions.

How about a simple indoor soil grow? Why invest in something you dont really know about? A soil grow is a very cost effective and great yielding way to go. Easy to manage and wont get you down.

Growing in soil you have a buffer when you are learning to care for a plants needs with the soil. DWC and aero both require knowledge and a costly setup to pull off correctly.
Very worth it if you can manage it, otherwise a waste of time.

16 1-2 foot plants? I would reccomend more like 6 to about 48". In soil.

Bugs outside are fairly easy to manage. and ec and ppm are 2 completely different ways of measuring kinda the same thing. Think you will be ok with a ph meter and ppm pen to start out.

You could also go with a kit, so that way you have everything you need. I'd totally recommend Cali Grow Kits, but there are other good ones out there as well.

DWC (Deep Water Culture) is more forgiving than aeroponics, so of the two cut your teeth on the DWC.

It can if you know what your doing. BUT that does not get you to harvest any faster.
