    First Grow

    Starting off my first grow. ive planted in or around 30 seeds which i came by from bad bags of green.

    The soil i'm using is a mix i made of compost, sand, and Vermiculite in a ration of 2:1:1 and have planted my seeds into compressed compost pots for easy and painless transplanting. Going to transplant once into a 3Litre pot cause im not wanting the plants to grow too big.

    I'm going to try out clipping the plants first once they have around 3 or 4 nodes, and then fimming the two new growths when they have developed a bit.

    I'm growing my plants in a polytunnel so i will be needing to create some dark box to create the 12/12 hours light and darkness the plant needs to flower. I'm also planning on using tomato feed on my plants during flowering stage for big buds.

    so basically a few questions i have are
    -Do i need to supply my plants with nutrients during veg growth or will the compost be enough?, i also dont want them to get any higher then 4 or 5 foot
    -Is the soil mix ok because when i water my seedlings the water seems to drain quite fast? am i using too much sand in my mix?
    -Also i'm relying on the summer sun for the lighting of my plants, so will there be any point to starting my plants now or is it too late?
    -Will a 3Litre pot be big enough for my plants final pot?

    I'll proably have move questions as time goes on but this is all im curious about now.

    Any help will be very much appreciated:rasta:

    1. If a good compost was used, it should hold your plants over for three weeks to a month. Using veg nutrients only serves to increase growth, but is not necessarily needed.
    2. You have a lot of drainage in your soil as you mentioned. Both the sand and vermiculite increase drainage. You may have to water thoroughly more often or add composted peat moss or potting soil to the mix.
    3. As of June 21, the days begin to get shorter and flowering commences. It's not the most favorable conditions for plants just starting their vegetative state, but it can and will be fine.
    4. A three litre container sure is small. In that size, plants will struggle to reach the 4-5ft mark, yet alone produce well. Shoot for at least 2 gallons.

    Would NOT limit Plant growth by smaller containers! Yes "Feeding" is more than necessary because of your "soil-less" mix!
    "relying on summer sun" while in Pots? Tricky! However even in the best scenario, you've bought yourself the need for more attention to Plants;
    v/s an "Outdoor Grow"..Please start em now at least, Not too late! You've still got 3 solid months of 'good' growing weather!
    Would NOT be trimming young plants Bro! Let em grow, only trimming off dead growth! Good Fortune!
