How to know you are gettiing what you paid for?
Hey,
I am wondering how are you supposed to know you got what you paid for?
Because I am new to buying marijuana I do not know how one eighth looks like or even 1gram.

Do yourself a favour & buy a cheap scale.
You can get a simple hanging postal scale for aout $5 if you order it - you just clip the baggy on and it measures the weight while it dangles. (just checked Amazon has it for $5 exactly)
They also have them in auto parts stores - they use them to weigh bearings or something to rebuild cards - can't quite remember which. I think they're about $10 there, but it's been years since I've bought one.
Safer than carrying a digital scale - some cops use having pot with a scale as grounds to charge you with intent to distribute. We always kept the scale at home, then complained later if it was light. Never had anyone who didn't take care of the problem. And, some people will weigh right in front of you if you ask - just kind of depends on where you are.

Alright, I'll look around for a scale. Also any tips for eye-balling it?

I'm terrible at that - but I know people who can do that almost to the exact weight. Of course, they have years upon years of breaking up pounds of the stuff at a time.
The problem with eyeballing is that some weed is very dense & heavy, while others is a little fluffy.
We always do ounces, and although the weight is alway good, the actual volume can vary by quite a bit.
I'm sure someone else will come along with a rule of thumb or something - or you can do a little search on the site. I would think it's been discussed before.

Almost impossible to visdually guess weight of cannabis because the density and dryness of the buds vary a lot. Get yourself a little digital scale for $10 and when you get home weigh it and see what you have. You can easily check the calibration of your scale by just using a nickel. A nickel weighs exactly 5 grams.

I have a scale but with my hook up I never have to question... I used to buying oz or qp so I can eye ball it...found this MSG board because I'm gonna be leaving the great green magic city(Miami) and moving around Asheville , nc. Looks like bud isn't as good unless you know grower or pay an arm/leg. Wish my ppl here would front me and I'll making good money and giving great product...
