depends on where you live, I tried to grow in direct sunlight here in CA and almost killed my plants. overwatering wouldn't turn your plants yellow.

I ask because on my flowering plant I have noticed that some leaves are beginning to turn yellow,they get water everyday and nutes only when absolutely needed.
