White paint is the cheapest and very effective. I read somewhere you can buy those reflective sheets they wrap around marathon runners after a race for 3 dollars each. Or fork out for some mylar or whitebacked/blackout sheeting.

That seems an OK price cos mylar ain't cheap. White paint is 85-90% reflective, Mylar is around 95%. It is for you to decide if it is worth the money or not.

Much better to over pay for a decent setup than stuff around with home made contraptions which could potentially cause problems for several grows before you figure out what is going wrong. As a beginner it was a very smart choice! Also I'm sure you'll be able to get support from where you purchased it from if you have questions.

I'd recommend investing in the mylar and spending the time fixing it to the walls thoroughly. You don't want it flapping around in the wind or tearing when you want to clean it. Also use something very clean and soft to lightly wipe if you do clean it because you want to avoid scuffing or scratching.

Does anybody know what a Net Trellis is? How would it be used? I received one with my setup and they say to use it. It is nylon, and 4x4 just the size of my grow room? I was under the Belief that you put it up to help support some of the branches and leaves therefore letting the plant focus more energy on growing. is this correct? When would I place the Net Trellis up?

just pea netting same thing diffrent size holes and its very easy to build your own mate pvc pipe drill holes all along put string through all holes . or just tie up each branch that needs support when needed time consuming tho mate. also have you got a small area for drying your herb? that will keep you from having to use one of your spaces a little tent or a little cubboard would do. good luck mate

Thanks for this thread, I'm trying to figure out the exact same stuff. I've been using the same room to flower and veg in and I want to speed up the process so I'm putting up another room too. I root clones in a cloner, then want to move them to a spot to veg until they're about 18" tall. Figuring out exactly what we need has been a pain. I've got plenty of room, just can't figure out how to share ventilation in the rooms to save money, but I guess we can't.

you can vent both rooms at once you just may not want to.

I decided to just vent the rooms separately. I ended up getting an awesome deal on some used equipment and ended up getting a fan that's way more powerful than what I have in my flower room, so I'm gonna switch 'em out. I ended up going with four 600 watt sets for the new veg room.

I made one single 12 foot long shelf about 5 feet up and hung some lights from it as well, so I have two rows that are each 12 feet long with 1200 watts of light on each. We just need to put walls up and the ventilation stuff.

Right now, the plan is to put the clones into 1 gallon pots once they're rooted and keep them in the new veg room until they're about 18".

With this next crop, I plan to top 25%, top and supercrop 25% and do just LST on another 25%. The last 25%, I'm just gonna leave alone. I'll probably do this a few times until I figure out what works best in my space. The plants I just put into flower 5 days ago look amazing and it's the first time I'd done anything at all to attempt a yield increase. I topped and super cropped this batch and they look amazing. Super bushy.

I think I accidentally burned them by dropping my lights down too low, but I got rid of all the badly affected leaves and they don't seem to be negatively impacted at all. They're growing well and pre-flowers are all over the place. I'm really excited, I didn't think I would like growing as much as I do, but actively participating instead of just helping out and clipping, etc. is a lot more fun than I expected it to be.

I got a net too, because I'm tired of staking, etc. (though I did get some velcro stuff to connect the plants to the stakes and that is AWESOME!) but I can't quite figure out how to use the dang thing and still be able to water. The plants are in rows of 4 each and I have to walk into the aisle to lift the pots with both hands and see how dry they are. Not sure how to control water when I can't lift the pots. I'll probably post another thread about it if I can't find info in an existing one.
