Already have Flowering Room, Need Help on How to Build My Veg room.

    Hello Guys,
I have Recently bought a 4x4 growroom with 6 Superponics Bubbleflow Buckets and an Air cooled 600w HPS light with Lumatek digital dimmable ballast that goes from 300w-400w-600w-600w+ with super lumens. . This will Be a great room for Flowering. But I want to Build My own Veg Room. I have Questions, Need advice and so on. I will first tell you how my room is setup. I Have a Room Set aside, about 6'x12'. The Superponics grow room takes up half of it. It is located in the basement, I am framing it in as we speak. So half of the room is taken up. I want to Make the other Part of the room a Veg Chamber. The floor is Cement. I am going to put drywall up. Now Should I buy another Growlab Tent for this, or can I convert the Second part of the room into the Veg Chamber? I have one 125w 6400K CFL by hydrofarm, Is this enough light for a veg room? Or should I get one more for 70$? I plan to keep one mother, and anywhere from 6-12 clones/seedlings. Also, If i am to transfer these to the flowering room, I feel I should have somewhat the same setup. a mixture of DWC, aeroponics and constant flow is what is in the flowering room. it uses 5 gal buckets with Netpots. Should I have somewhat the same setup So i can just move the Netpot and plant from Vegging to flowering? What is the best way for me to do this? Can I just Grow them in rockwool and manually feed them water and nutes in the Veg room? I am Such a Noob, I am not Dumb, Just new and learning. I have some pics here with the hydro grow room i have here, Maybe Someone can help point me in the right direction. What would you do? What should I do? Any suggestions would be helpful!

P.S. No Comments on My purchase of Superponics 4x4 Growroom, ok? :-) I know I overpaid, But its ok, Its just money lol.

You have given some great info there. A couple more questions and I think I can give you my opinion. How many plants do you want to grow? Do you want to have a perpetual flower room and do all the vegging seperately? (this is the most efficient but requires more room/equipment) Or just have the veg room to start off seedlings, cuttings and keep the mom? (there are some great little veg tents about)

I am looking to house about one mother and 6 Clones. Could you tell me more about a perpetual flower rooms? I am going for efficiency. I would like to have a cycle of plants in the veg room, and plants in the Flowering room at the same time. I harvest 6 plants, move plants from Vegging room to Flowering room, Start more clones/ seedlings and keep the cycle going. I am guessing that would Be a perpetual growing method, but wouldn't be the same as Perpetual flowering room. My system Doesn't support flowering perpetually in the flower room i don't think. I have Bubbleflow Buckets which is Basically DWC where i have a resevoir, a pump fills the buckets up from the bottom, the excess water flows from a top point exit and drains back into the resevoir. I have air stones in the buckets as well. Basically Whatever the pH and TDS of the resevoir is, that is the pH and TDS of the buckets at that time. This will not allow me to have flower at different stages of growth because all buckets will have to have the same amount of nutes. I am told To feed different strengths to the plants at different weeks. Am I right? or am i wildly off? hehe. My Flowering Tent holds Six bubbleflow Buckets, so I figure a mother and six clones/Seedlings in the Veg Chamber at all times. I would like to have the system setup so i can harvest often..... Any Advice you give me would be Greatly appreciated. I noted that you replied to my other posts in Hydro section, Hats off to ya, and thank you for your help PhatJay!

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have been a bit busy. :stoned:

By perpetual flower room I just mean always on 12/12, like you say, you cannot stagger the plants in your flower room because they share the same food source. If you want to bring the plants to the end of veg in a seperate room/tent then it is going to need to be nearly as big as your flowering room and you are also going to need another system to feed them. If you just want to get them rooted in 3" cubes you could get away with a lot less.

This is the kind of setup I would buy...

6 Plants to end of veg..... (You will get a crop every 8-11 weeks depending on strain)

Tent (about 3/4 the size of your flower tent or the same size)
    250w MH or 250w HPS
Another feed system for your 6 plants.
    Extraction system.

    or the cheaper option......

6 plants rooted in 3" cubes (then transfer to other tent, finish veg and then flower - crop every 11/15 weeks depending on strain)

    Small tent or cupboard
    Use your existing CFL
    Hand feed in cubes
    Oscilating fan.

Don't grow your plants 5ft tall, read up on L.S.T. and keep them under 3ft high.

Also... your main light is 600w so I would grow 4 plants. You can grow 6, but I think you will be able to get the same amount of bud off 4 as 6.

Ok these options are actually do-able. I feel i will set up a small closet using my existing cfl, then I will venture further into building a true veg room. This is really good advice and i will absolutely use this, Thank you PhatJay.

If you find that your existing CFL is not quite enough for your seedlings/cuttings and mother plant, look at something like a T5HO to go over your mother plant. They are 24w, kick out about 2k lumens and cost under $40, your mother plant will be happy under that.

I feel That is what I will do. I will Get some t-5 Lighting for my mother, and use my CFL for the Vegging. This should work great for a startout system. Also I wanted to know What should I put up on the walls for reflective lighting? What are cheap methods? What are Time friendly methods. I don't feel it would be hard to set up and Ebb and Flow table with 3" Rockwool for starting my plants out. Or maybe another method or two. this I will Look into as I venture forwards. Thank you PhatJay.
