How much can you yield?
What would you expect from a good-to-decent grow per plant?

How much can you yield?
I'm afraid that's no where near enough information in order for anyone to tell you. Why don't you start writing more specifics?
Trying to predict yield is like asking yourself how high you're going to get, with a ounce of bud. You're gonna get high, just like you're gonna yield SOMETHING, that's inevitable (Assuming you know your shit from Veg to Bud).
ScrOG? SOG? Vertical? Horizontal? Hydroponics? Aeroponics? Dirt? Hempy? Coco? Organic? Synthetic?
What's your height limit?
Plant count?
Although vague, for a decent-to-good grow, per plant, you can expect 1-3 ounces per plant. Again, VERY subjective, so don't take my word for it.

*NOW, it seems like the cheapest, simplest alternative right now. If you can suggest where I can research other alternative I will. Or if you have suggestions? Can I build something?

So that's approximately a 3ish'x7ish'x7ish' tent. I'd assume 2 rows of 4-6 plants. So you're looking at 8-12 plants?
If you plan to vertical grow, that would be even less plants, maybe 4-8 plants.
I'll stick to what I said before. Depending on what setup you go for, 1-4 ounces/plant. Maybe more, maybe less. Perhaps you could give it a go?
Sorry that I can't give you a definitive answer, but you're asking a very broad question, EVEN with the info that you've given me.
I think you shouldn't bother with vertical in a tent. If you had more width, then that would be a different story.

If you were out from the previous grow, the motivation for breaking that barrier should be greater. Let me know if you have any more questions. I don't have much knowledge on HID lighting, but plant-wise, I think I've been through enough.

I can't directly give you all the information on everything I know. I CAN tell you that there's a lot of information on this site and other sites.
Nutes? I recommend Organic, whether you do a tea or organ nutes.
What to use to increase grow? Not sure if you're asking me what to use to increase the size of your grow or your yield. Make sure your canopy is fully utilized. Make sure they're in a good atmosphere. If you need to expand, use something bigger than a tent.
Yield more potent? Hmmm... You gotta give it your love, care and affection man. Cultivating is a two way relationship; she tends to pay back in the end for all that work.
