When to Feed?
[quote=Esteban1]So, The reason for "slow growth' could be as simple as 15 hour days which leaves me with a 9 hour dark period. This could well be the reason for slow flowering BUT my question is why are these 2 going bonkers?
Ok i need a bit of background info on the strains and were they inside before putting them out and were they starting to bud before you put them out? It looks to me like the plant in the black 5gal had went hermy or its a male. In less your growing autos your plants should not be in bud yet man, they should start to flower only when the light is closer to 12 hours light and 12 hours dark. So if ya had them inside and brought them out with that 15/9 lighting your plants are freaking out
only as you posted the "Inside/Out pic's" so i guess i need to know if ya started them inside and the light schedule you used.
If ya did start them inside then its way to early to put them out now. Look on the plants for balls as this would be bad thing now, sorry to be the barer of bad news. But if ya have any that dont, i would take them back in and put them on a 18/6 light schedule to get them back into veg. Or even try and find a dark bag or box to put over them so the get a light period of 12/12, this is when they flower as in nature fall is the time when outside plants flower, but of course begin to start at around 12-13 hours of light.
I have not looked at the plants that are budding yet, but if you see balls on it, pull them fuckers off asap, you will get hermied up plants that you dont want. The key here is that a plant will stay in the vegetative state at around 18/6 and flower at 12/12 so if they had began to flower inside and then were put out with a 15/9 light then they could easily hermy. So as you see im needing more info for sure, but in the mean time only use the veg nutes, the Grow Big only and try to get them back to veg or i guarantee they will all hermy on you. I had grown 2 plants once and they were started outside, which is fine and even ok to start them inside, but gotta keep them in veg when putting them outside. Now mine seemed ok till i started smoking it, white seeds everyplace and not very potent, i found out later that my daughter was turning on the porch light for my g/f working 2nd shift, this messed up its light/dark period and the result was Hermie's. But this was my first real try at it a long ass time ago and even took a year to realize they were indeed Hermy's as i was reading. Reading and more reading will help ya as a grower, i still read everyday about something.
Now like i said you can trick the plants by covering them after 12 hours of light, but make sure there is air flow from under the plants. It is something that would need to be done everyday or it will not work, this is why its a good idea to never put a flowering plant out at this time. Best to put them out in veg or just start them and keep them outside. Now obviously i dont know these answers iv ask yet, but looking at the second pic not above, but the 3 pics you put up. The 2nd pic, 1st plant is a hermy or male, i cant see the whole plant, but if it was put out in flower im thinking it is a hermy. If the balls open pollen will come out and hit every plant that has a pistil on it or bud and will be seeded up. One thing about this is if it is a true hermy the pollen from it gets on a female plant, the seeds will be femanized seeds, but hermy pron
Let me know on the info and stop the flower nutes for sure, you want them back to veg if your going to leave them outside. And find someplace or something to cut that light to 12/12 for them to bud, this is the only way and def cut the Cha Ching, the stuff is way to much at this point.
I will stop back after you post, and if possible put more pics up, its much more easy to tell.
