CfL lighting problem
Hello ~~ everyone , I m just new for growing MJ with CFL lights, the introdution from the CFL 's box said , 6500k 24w / 125w output ? what is this exactly means ? means i use 24 w energy to produce 125 w light power ? it says , 70 lumens per w , so i shud court with 24 w x 70 lumens or 125w x 70 lumens ? I m very confuse about that now , cause i just bought four of them , use them in a 40cm x 40 cm x 60 cm grow box, is that enough light for growing ? please help !!!!

Use the actual power draw of 24 Watts.

The 125 W. rating is supposedly a comparison to incandescent lights.
It takes 125 W. of incandescent light to produce the same 1680 lumens.
Yes, those will do fine for vegging.
You might want to "kick it up a notch" when it's time to flower.
Don't expect trees of course, but a skillful grower can make do with 96 Watts of cfls

Actually, no.
Just realized that you are talkin about a very small cabinet.
We don't know squat about metric in the U.S. so I hadda look it up.
Subtract 10 cm. for soil, 10 cm. for lights, 5 cm. for headroom and you might, with great difficulty, grow a single 35 cm. plant
If you could shoehorn more lights into it, you'd have no room for the plants.
Yield will be very disappointing at best.
And CFLs run cool, not cold.
That 96 Watts of heat needs to be dealt with.
My advice?
A much bigger cabinet, and add an HPS light for flowering.
Factor in the electricity cost in the present plan and you are way ahead just buying your meds.
Seriously, if you can't upsize your cabinet, you are spinning your wheels here.
