There are many reasons a seed does not sprout. Over watering, poor seed planting and bad seed are just a few things that can go wrong.

Planting a seed is easy if you follow a few simple steps. Use fresh steril soil. Not so importsnt to start a plant but important to growing one to maturity. Keep soil moist but not soaked. young seedlings drown quite easily. Always plant seed pointed side up. This is very important. the young seedling will sprout its tap root from the point of the seed. The root will curve on its way out to head down. If the point is down the root will come out and curve upwards, the root will realizt the error and ess back downward, wasting precious energy that would have been used to push the seed out of the soil. Lastly plant the seed from 1/4 to 1/2 inches deep and you should see plants in as little as 3 days but up to 10 days.

    Hope that helps,
    Grow On! JPS

    New grower need help !

Hey so I have little seedlings that just sprouted. I have a few questions because this is my first time as well. I live in Southern California and my plants just sprouted but the past two nights I have been bringing them in the house for the night and then waking up around 8 am to put them outside. Should i be bringing them in the house or just leaving them outside for the night? Also how often at this stage should I be watering? And lastly in my garage I have 60 watt fluorescent tube lights, would it make sense to put the plants in there at night with the lights on and a fan going. Im new to this so any information to help me get a successful grow is much appreciated. I put some pix so you can see the stage I'm at. Thanks in advance guy. Happy Smoking!![attachment=o285820][attachment=o285821]

Regular flour. tubes aren't ideal, especially if hanging up away from your table/ bench.
If that is what you plan to use, I did that by mistake and it will work, but you really need light close to them, and a good CFL or two, to keep them from getting leggy and stretching towards the light.

These are 2 of my "girls". Here's what I did....good black soil base....add "Miracle gro dirt"....good fresh cow poop (just a little) and a good "airy"
pot....They are from seed.....3 months ago....left outside...brought under cover during hard rain storms......then back out....nature really does a good job if ur ready to be patient. Patience really is a virtue. Attachment 286722Attachment 286723
