Beginning hydroponics Hydrofarm Emilys garden help and tips

Hello to whomever may be reading this, I decided that after a few grows i'd like to dabble in some hydroponics. So after doing a little research and talking to the local hydro shop they recommended the Emily's Garden from hydrofarm. They told me right off the bat that this system is for beginners and can only do so much which sounds perfect should I not like what I am getting myself into, I just revert back to soil and how I have been doing things. The equipment I am using is in a small room that is 7x7x4. I am using :

    400w apollo lights MH&HPS
Hydrofarm Emilys garden comes with general hydroponics nutes microboom, microflora, and one more I forget
PH test kit w/ ph up and down

If I can have some tips and pointers from some one who has first hand experience with something similar to this. Also what kind of routine you used when using the system such as nutes, cleaning... etc Much appreciated

It's too small. Go with 5 gallon bucket DWC, check out youtube videos on it. This kind of plant will outgrow Emily's rather quickly.

I chose storage bins instead of the 5 gallons after reading a little more on here and looking on youtube.

So your storage bins are larger than the 5 gal containers, right? Indoor should do pretty well in a container that size, we veg our plant to size of room or by time, (many varieties), DWC is an easy method which helps isolate any problems to the one container. Check out the threads on DWC, indoor hydro, etc. Your experience with outdoor still gives you a lot of knowledge about the plant and it will translate well to your indoor grow too. Good luck and happy growing.

Hi, I'd be interested in seeing them.

A PH meter is a must. A TDS EC meter is a good thing to have also but not as important as PH.
You sound like you got a handle on it and should do well.
The one biggest problem I have had is rez temps. If mine gets to 72 or higher nasty things start to grow.
Keep a cool room and hydro is the BOMB

The other worst problem is not hydro but bugs. Two-Spotted Spidermites from hell. Fought those bastards for over 3 years and poisined myself with azamax several times. Thought I would try mighty wash about 3 months ago. Well it killed them all and their eggs and larvae with just 2 aplications. getting ready to just spray for maintanace. And you can drink the stuff TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!! non-toxic to animals.
