VERY newbie :) - Question about roots not growing

    Hi all,

This is my very first time trying this.

I did germinate the seeds and they little root popped up perfectly!!! Soooo excited...planted on rockwool and put it under my LED lamp. I am watering the rockwools when I see they are kind of getting dry.

They have been in rockwool for about 11 days, and the stem grew to about 1.5 inch but I don't see any roots coming out. Today, I opened the rockwool cube and saw that there actually no roots

I put some little "rapid root" on the water a couple of times...

Any idea what might be going on? Your help and experience is very much appreciated!

It can take 2 weeks to develope roots depending upon temperature is my diagnosis, keep them warm, get a clone heat pad put a towel between the heat pad and the actual rockwool may get to hot, patience is key in growing, do not over water and dilute any thing you add to it, you can "lock" up your medium ( rockwool " or you already may have with adding stuff to it too much in an effort to stimulate growth.. just let her sit, keep her warm humid and moist,, just like any other girl

VERY newbie :) - Question about roots not growing

its true that lights on 24 hrs works,, kinda... yet I believe that keeping a natural cycle is beast from my experience, I do 16-18 hrs vege and 10 to force for a few days then up to 12-14 flower this works just as well and saves ya a lot of elec cost..

    Hi Rev Kevin...sure.

Quick update: one of the plants died. The other two have one root each already (1 week old) !!!! However, in one of them I noticed the serrated leaves shrunk. Roots are there though...is the shrinking of the leaves normal?

The other one, 2 weeks old, plant looks good no roots yet...this is a different type of seed.

    lightning is 16/8.

Thanks in advance for your help!
