Infrequent smoker, frequent worrier
Hi all. I've been a long-time lurker, and thought I'd finally post in an attempt to alleviate some of my stress.
About me: Female, 5'4", 130 lbs, average-high metabolism. Over the past 3 months, I've worked out 3-4 times a week and have lost some weight. The first time I ever smoked was the second week of April (around the 10th or so), and it was only about 3 hits of a small bowl shared between 2 other friends. The last time I smoked was one hit on April 24th.
I took a 9-panel non-DOT urine test last Friday, May 18th. It was 23 days after my last use.
Considering the small amount and infrequency of my marijuana use, I wasn't too concerned about testing positive...however, Human Resources contacted me today (6 days after the test) and told me that my results were still pending. The nurse at the drug screen site had informed me that tests usually take 24-48 hours to clear. It's been longer than that, so now I'm a little concerned.
I read in a previous thread that for non-DOT screens, the MRO will usually contact the employer directly about a positive result. But as of this afternoon, my employer has not heard anything, so what gives?hsnbrg Reviewed by hsnbrg on . Infrequent smoker, frequent worrier Hi all. We don't work for the drug testing company, so we don't know.. Your going to have to relax and wait to see what happens..
All you going to get here is a bunch of guesses that will make your even more freaked out.

You didnt specifically state whether this was a pre-employment U/A or if youre an existing employee taking either a random U/A, a test based upon reasonable suspicion, routine fitness for duty, etc;
If this is a pre-emp U/A, give the employer a call after the Memorial Day weekend and ask for your "start date". The employers response there will shed light on whether you passed, or if the employer had simply moved on to the next applicant for hire.
Never inquire about the test results. A person who is indeed "drug-free" would never do this because, being drug-free, theres no reason to do so. Doing so would only serve to raise suspicious eyebrows, particularly if you want to be viewed as a person that doesnt use drugs.
If you already have a start date secured, or if youre an existing employee, just simply show up for work and carry on with your duties with the mindset of a "drug-free person". In this case, no news means good news. :thumbsup:
