Extracting the good stuff from grit weed

    Hey guys,

is it possible to extract the good stuff from grit weed, leaving the crap behind?

Suppose I got hold of some grit weed. If I used this to make some Green Dragon or cannabutter, could I do some kind of filtering to remove the grit crap from the good stuff?

I would have thought that it must be possible to extract into alcohol, then filter the liquid to strip out the sand or glass particles, but I'm no expert in this kind of thing.

Or is there a better way of going about this? (Until I get my own grow going)

You can extract the essential oils with a solvent like alcohol and filter out the solids. We use a coffee filter, or vacuum filter with a Whatman #1 lab filter, followed by a 0.2micron syringe filter if it needs to be more pristine.

Thanks man, I'll keep a note of that. Good to know that it's possible, and I guess easier than I thought it might have been.

Hopefully i won't need to do this at all, but I've just moved town and who knows what I'll find here!
