1. Did you get scanned with a metal detector for a regular pre employment non DOT test? I fitted a brass barb to my container for vent purposes in draining.

2. Been practicing, got the temp down (heat pad not even really necessary) but pulling out bottle and doing the transfer seems cumbersome if using a toilet with a door open and somebody being around. I can only hope for a more private opportunity to test. What were your experiences regarding this?

3. Suggestions for aiding in the transfer if a not so private test is given? Obviously, I really hope for a "behind a closed door" type of test.

4. Can you describe what you did from the time given the cup to the time you hand the cup over and passed?

I tried a search for this but nothing useful came up, except for one thread where a guy said the light had a fan wired to it. Thanks.

I will say this be sure the temp is correct or you will get caught. most are not observed, rabbit ear pockets, take cup go to bathroom dont flush pee then return with cup hand it over they record the temp and specific gravity then wash your hands.

All I did is get inside, open bottle and quietly poor until enough is inside the cup. Then I pissed and didn't flush. Walked out and left. Temp was 98.

You'll be fine from the sounds of it. I just subbed a few weeks ago for a pre-empl non DOT test and it worked out well. The workers at most clinics don't give a shit about you passing or failing, and typically don't care enough to really be anal about it. There could always be that one real vigiliante worker who makes it their business to hawk over you intensely out of some perceived 'moral' duty but that is very unlikely.

I got a friend's clean pee, put it in the urinator (but I'm sure a condom or shampoo bottle would be fine with warmers) and emptied it behind the closed door. WHen I came out it was pretty clear that they weren't listening or watching and it was pretty routine. Just get in the mindset that you are clean just like everyone else and act that way. They don't EXPECT you to fail or tamper, so keep that in mind and act that way.
