Need a little help diagnosing please

Started 2 blue cheese seeds in seed starter soil then things when down hill and the leaves started drying up and wilting. So I started 2 more in jiffy pellets thinking it was the soil I was using. They started out strong and looking real good about a week in they started doing the same thing. I got the light about 6 inches away from plants (cfls). Just seed starter soil and plain water so far.

Fill out a trouble shooting form to the best of your knowledge and paste it on here. If we knew your whole setup, we could have a more educated response. Good luck

Looks like Phosphorus deficiency to me. What kind of soil are you gonna use for the rest of the grow? The seed starter mixes dont have alot of nutrients in them so they are usually only good for a week, two weeks max. Do you know the ph of the ingoing water you are using? Im willing to bet that if you transplant into some good soil and have the ingoing water around 6.5 ph. You will be good to go. The burnt looking leaves will not recover but the plant will continue to produce more. Another thing that will help you out is to use the whole pot/cup. Fill them almost to the very top. Leave a little lip so when you water it stays in the container instead of running on the floor. You have holes in the bottom of those cups right? What kind of light are you using? What are the temps in that area? Air circulation?

yes holes in the bottom of cups, 2 100 watt cfls, temps are around 80,and air flow is just my closet door open. The pics of the ones in the cups are 2 weeks old and the one in the green pot are a week old. I'm planning on repotting them in miracle grow soil don't know the ph.

I would suggest getting something to check the ph. That will help you out more than you realize. Also you will need more light when they get bigger and with more light comes more heat. So youre gonna need something to blow in cooler air when that time comes. Just something to think about. I would say within a week or two after you transplant you will see some nice new growth if your waters ph isnt way off. Make sure you let them pretty much dry out in between the waterings. Other than that you should be good to go man. Good luck

I just checked out your old log. Hell i thought you were a Noob. haha. I guess i shouldve looked at your join date.haha. I think we all stumble onto something we have never seen from time to time. Im still a rookie too but ive had seedlings that looked just like yours from leaving them in the seedstarter for too long. Its great for seedlings as longs as you dont leave them in there too long. Well, welcome back to the grow world!

here's how you solve your problem. get a bottle of dynagrow 7-9-5, and use just small amount one quarter to one half teaspoon in a gallon of water. You have a nitrogen deficiency. don't water with it too much, wait for the soil to dry out some. transplant into 5 gallon buckets when they're about six inches tall or so.
