Indoor VERTICAL growing method
Ok i plan on starting my grow start of june, but i still reading and taking notes and planning ahead
Im wondering has anyone used this type of method (hanging your MH/Hps light vertically) Im thinking of creating a box, maybe 5 foot wide, 5 foot deep and 6 foot high. Putting 4 pots in a diamond shape on the ground and 2 plants on either side of the box 1 foot off the ground. Leaving me with 8 plants in the area. Use a 400 MH light hung in the centre of the box and then replace that with the 400 Hps...
Question time :smokin:
1)So do ye think this will work? Im very interested in hearing peoples views
2)During veg while the 8 plants are all getting max light from the set up, the 4 plants which are higher will be kind of growing outwards aswell as up toward the light, will the 4 plants that are higher eventually fight/wrestle (<- may sound funny but dont know wat term to use haha) with the four plants that are growing below?
3)How close should the closest leaves be to the MH light and then to the Hps light?
4)Would a Hps light been used at 18/6 for veg and then 12/12 for flowering give a similar yield or will the plants know i been a cheap arse and give me less beautiful smoke?
ps. this will be my first grow so people who have experience even at normal grows will be great help with your info.
extra info- will be using soil, hoping to have 8 feminized seeds purchased.
Look forward to replies if any :rastasmoke: happy smokinWEEDATHON Reviewed by WEEDATHON on . Indoor VERTICAL growing method
I was born running thats my problem haha
ya i no, i should start at the bottom and build my way up, but id like to try da vert grow because it seems same(if not easier) then normal grow and you can get more plants and a better yeild off of a smaller bulb.
I seen on some forum(dont remember what it was) that this guy uses 400w with 15 plants using the vert grow...he didn say if he was vert scrog'n or sog'n it but i loved what i was reading haha and now im interested to hear anyone wit experience of this style of grows taughts and storys of how therses went ??
Besides the growing style, using the Hps for the hole grow, will the plants react badly to this? And in general from someones point of view(without link mathematical lumen this and that) how far should the closest tip of my plant be from my light ?

The method and volume of plants sounds complicated given all the factors you need to consider when growing just one plant let alone 8. 100% agreement with PhatJay on this one especially on your first grow. Pruning, mylar, topping, super cropping and tieing down are just some methods used to control your plant and create a massive yield per square foot (ive made mine grow sideways then up and have 8 tops at give or take a few inches the same height) to me sideways lighting is completely unatural and its the tops i like to concentrate on as its where all the good stuff happens. I use T5 flourescent from seedling through veg at an inch above tops then switch to 600w HPS at about 5 inches above. Remember if the light is too hot for your hand it will burn your plants. Sexing your plants is also very easy if you have two rooms and a good cloning process ie take cuttings and force to flower

I do recommend keeping it simple. Don't go buying tons of additives and nutes. The more variables the harder it is to pinpoint issues. Good luck!
