Siamese Breeding
In early 2011 I started an unintentional breeding Project while pheno'ing out some Burmese Dark Star from T.H. Seeds. I had grown Burmese Kush, and Mazar I-Sharif. But not the Dark Star. I had seen plenty of purple kush. Dark Star is Purple kush x Mazar I-Sharif. So I had a idea in mind of what I wanted to see from that crossing. The pheno's were all over the place, and none really quite what we were looking for. However, one of the seeds sprouted as a Siamese twin. Not fraternal, these were conjoined. They sprouted, and were separated by razor in just around 48 hours. I didn't think the smaller of the 2 would survive, for the first week it didn't really do anything. It came around though. about a month and a half later the more vigorous of the two showed sex, she was female. A strong girl, with hybrid leafs not too fat, fairly long. She grew fast and and trumped over her twin. But around the same time the smaller seedling hit its stride, beefed up hardily with fat indica leaves. The leaves had a nice dark green look with a waxy finish. Stout, slow grower. A musky, skunky, slightly spicy, very strong aroma...and then, that boy has a penis! It was about to be time for some hard-core incestuous fucking. Those are the technical terms I looked up in a botany book... So I flowered him out, collected pollen, and painted my lady. She was a pretty girl, frosty, hues of purple, nothing spectacular though, other than that she was a dirty girl doing her brother. I had made a few cuts and ran her a few times, but there was just too much better competition in the gardens to keep her going. I had germinated a few of the seeds straight away, while the mother B.D.S. plant was still alive, I plucked some seeds out for impatient shits and giggles. they were not stable to say the least. the leaves tried to pop the seed, not the taproot. It was unsuccessful. I have had this impatient technique work, my Nigerian Nightmare x Hash Plant got to meet her seeded mother before I harvested all the rest of the seeds and cut her down. That pheno has been running around as Rainbow Bright, may not be the best, but it's better than N.N. and better than H.P. But even that's not saying much. Back to to the twinning though. So months passed and I finally had an opening to play with the B.D.S. incestuous back cross. Popped 30 beans out of 100's. Low and behold, 10 percent held the trait for twinning. This time I had one Chimeric twin who through twin transfusion syndrome absorbed it's counter part. One set of fraternal twins, and one more set of conjoined twins. The smaller of the fraternal and conjoined both died... sorry, I tried, they just weren't having it. Most mutations are bad, and there was most likely cellular breakdown occurring, as the conditions were prime. But I still have 3 of the 6. I popped these on 3/31, no sexes yet. Soon I will have more info, just need 1 girl and I'll have the trait on both sides. Still have plenty of seeds and pollen. So over the next several years I will be locking this recessive trait down. Possibilities are awesome, and I'm still thinking of new applications. But hydra headed plants with multiple polyploid meristematic cola's. Or 10 plants in 5 seeds are just a start. Not to mention the rampant mutation due to incestual back crosses. IBL's a snap...Yay fun! Has anyone else had twin experiences? Oh yeah, when this strain comes to pass is shall be known as King Joffrey. All hail the king!
