Hey Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing good and feeling great. I'm new to message boards and I'm about to start my first grow. I signed up hoping to meet some new friends who share my love for cannabis. Everyone seems real cool and friendly. I am also hoping to get some help on my new grow project, any volunteers ? I am a real novice, but motivated. Been dry for 3 years now. Well I look forward to meeting some of you and learning all I can.

PS: Anybody else out there in the Rockland/Orange/Westchester area ? My wife and I just moved to this part of New York and I'm looking for some new local friends.

Whats up John.Welcome to the boards.I'd recommend one of the many of the grow boards for info.However as long as the advice you are seeking isn't incredibley advanced,i could probably help.

Hey man, thanks for replying to my post and I appreciate the offer for a little advice. I am having a little problem with germination/propagation. I can always get the seeds to pop, but then something always goes wrong when they go into the rockwool cubes and propagation tray. One book I have says once the taproot pops stick them in rockwool and turn on the lights. The other says that the plants don't need much light for the first two weeks.This is my current plan. Right now they are still in a glass of ph balanced water on a heating pad waiting for the taproots to get a little bigger. Next step is to put them in the cubes, into the propagation tray and leave them on the heating mat for about two weeks. I also plan to leave them near a window to get some natural light. My hope is that they will grow a little stronger root system using this method and then I can put them under the lights. I have a 125w flourescent and a 430w hps. All in one unit, yes I am one of those dummies who plunked down $2500 for an all in one grow machine. But I live in a one bedroom condo and there is no place to set up a traditional grow room.

Anyway, sorry for being a little long winded. Any advice would really, really be appreciated.

Just germinate in betweejn about 6 layer of paper towel on plate and keeo them moist,Within 3 datas they will all have a little stem oppoing out to bottim,Gte lots of clear colored dixie cups already filled with damp dirt.Then poke a small hole,and fed the little root into the hole leaving to seed shell on top.After that don't keep them too damp,but i recommend a spray bottle.hen get them bitcje outdoords!(p.s)Mkae sure poke hole in the bottom of the cups so water can flow out.Then after 2 weeks of them in the sun they will be reasy to transplant.,Peace

Thanks for the reply. I am growing hydro. I don't have a problem getting the taproots showing. I use a different method though (got it from kindseed.com), I put the seeds in a glass of ph balanced water (6.0-6.5) and then put the glass on a prop mat. I put saran wrap on the top of the glass, cover it with a towel and I always get a taproot (well 5 out of 6). The problem always happens when they go into the rockwool. Once I get a taproot I put them into the cubes, and then they go into a prop dome and I stick them under a 125 watt flourescent. I've got an Ed Rosenthal book and he says once they have shown the taproot I should stick them under the lights (lights on 24 hrs) and once they show the first flower they should go from the prop dome into the the pots with hydroton stones and then veg for 2 weeks. I can never get them to the point where the flower pops and then grows. They just seem to stretch a little and die. Am I giving them too much water the way I germinate them ? Sorry, it's just really frustrating that I can't get past this point. Can't figure out where I am going wrong. Any help would be great. Am I putting them under the lights too soon ?
