Are my closet doors an issue?

I recently started an outdoor project with Grandma a couple days ago but I would also like to start a very small indoor project consisting of 1-3 plants, if possible. I have a lot of spare time and a closet that has nothing but "junk" in it and I'd like to clean it all out and bag it up for Goodwill. I'll be left with a clean closet about 4 feet across and maybe 2 and a half feet deep. However I fear that my closet doors would be the deal breaker. Unfortunately, they let little bits of light in. I'll attach an image of what they look like. Would this ruin the chances of growing inside the closet? What makeshift options might I have to make this work. I feel the project would be too small to invest other than lightly into it.

    Thanks in advance! :smokin:

I did this with my first grow and it turned out great. It will be tight if you wanna get 3 plants in there. 2 will fit comfortably with no problems. I have a door on my closet as well and it was alright. BTW, my closet is 2 1/2 feet wide and 4ft deep so I had to reach in to work my grow haha you will be able to work easier since they will be right there.

To solve your slat dilemma, just pick up a small roll of panda film and tape/tack it on the inside of the closet (black side facing the room and white side facing into the closet to reflect light. It will turn out good buddy, just make sure you get yourself some neem oil and a hot shot pest control strip to prevent any mite problems from arising. Watch the temps if you plan on using a HPS setup. Cool tube will help alot!

You will be just fine with 2 plant easy, 3 is a squeeze... But then again I let them flower longer

Thanks for the speedy reply! I'm most definitely going to look into the panda film ASAP. I tried to eyeball how many plants I thought would fit. I figured 2 would be most realistic, 3 was just wishful thinking. I'll probably go ahead and do 2 plants though. I don't want them to be crowded. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of set-up did you use in your closet?

You can follow my grow log if you want. It is what I will be using to reference this grow.

    http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/...d-nirvana.html

It was my first grow ever but I read ALOT before making any decisions. DO NOT use FF nutes, I recommend Jack's Classic Water Soluable All Purpose and Blossom Booster. I also got a bag of bat guano. The FF nutes will run you like $40-$80. I spent a total of $15 on the JC and the bat guano. I do however recommend getting FF soil. The kind I used on my grow... I am not knocking FF by any means but I believe JC is better and alot cheaper and has EVERYTHING these plants need without extra additives like other nutes that cost alot more.

You will see throughout my log that I do everything perfectly. Except for the time I put the plants outside for sunlight, I ended up with some mites, and got some neem oil to clear it up but they still messed up my plants a little at the end. You could see the yellowing leaves. If I had known/caught them sooner there would be alot more bud. Also, the JC food gives you better buds, and get yourself some molasses

Just briefly checked it out and it's pretty nice. Those nugs look insanely delicious. First time you say? Very nice! I'm going to study your log tomorrow morning for sure. Do you think I should get a couple clones? I started my outdoor grow with seeds I germinated but I don't even know the strain and they could end up being males.

Yeah very first grow with any plant. I am certain that if I had caught the spider mites earlier it would have been alot nicer. My gf sister and her friends couldn't get enough of it, they were over my house like everyday to get some and they told me that it was the best they had ever had hands down, and they are total potheads. As for the clones, just make sure your cloning a female first and that the mother plant is strong.

To avoid the one small mistake I made, get a small jug of neem oil, mix a little with water and spray your plants/soil twice a week. I think I have pictures in my second grow log, you will see it leaves a nice shiny sheen coating on the leaves which makes them look very good and will be a proactive approach to stopping any kind of mite infestation. Something I could have easily avoided if I acted sooner rather than later. And a Hot Shot pest strip will do you good as well.

A large auto strain would assure you no problem with light leaking in and also give you ample yield! Or just cover doors like mentioned above.

Might have some financial issues. I'll only have around 100 extra bucks to make this happen and I figured I would at least need around 200, give or take for two healthy plants. I'm still going to get my closet ready. Should of taken a break, buying the herb is draining. Taking a T-Break starting today however, til 4/20. (Of course)

~However, there are tons of gardening supplies in the back. I'll have to see if I can save money and rummage through it.

I'm going to order some neem oil very soon. I also have a spending limit increase. How do you think this light would do? Could it handle 3 plants? I know it can do 2.
400 Watt Super HPS MH Grow Light System Digital Dimmable Hydroponic 400w hps mh grow light set kit. 400w ballast, Super High Pressure Sodium bulb, Metal Halide bulb, 19" Wing Reflector and pair of yoyo.

Also have to grab a hot pest strip.

Bud, if you are on a budget I can definitely help you find good prices on these things. A 400W can give enough light for 3 plants easy. Before you buy anything send me a PM and I will hook up with you on IM.
