Preflowers? What's the sex? Help? Noob here.
Some of my plants have shown pistils. And some havent. Some started off with little pear shaped sacs. And then sprouted pistils. Can you tell me what sex these are?

First looks female .
The second is a male.
The first one is still branching symmetrically .
It's best to wait until they branch alternately to flower.
And Indica?
At best 60% Indica.
Better pictures will fetch better answers.

Hey Weez...Could you explain that to me? I mean about the branching part.
I ain't no real pro grower, but I must agree with Weezard on the sex.

Preflowers? What's the sex? Help? Noob here.
I'm confused. I have my pride and joy plant. That just SPROUTED right up and is twice as tall as the others .And it has clusters, so that's a male. Bummer. And then I have some plants. That have one or two little pear-shaped balls. But no pistils have emerged. Do the pistils emerge from the pear shaped bulbs? There's only one or two on the plants. But my male already has like 50 clusters. I have one plant that has pistils already emerged. So confused.

And yes, my plants have all been identified as Indicas. Their leaves are a dead give away. What I did might be considered stupid to some. I pulled seeds out of my favorite buds that I bought over a period of time. I never expected to get this far. And I'm really stoked I invested in good lighting. Because it's a lot of fun for me. And time consuming. So it keeps me out of trouble...well...you get what I mean.
I'm just a noob grower, confused.

What light schedule are you running at the moment?
In my experience you don't get a big gob of preflowers before you go to 12/12.... (don't know if that's the right way to say that or not)
50 clusters? Pistils emerge from a more pointy lookin', smallish looking sac at about 6 weeks into the grow...(I think)
There's not really a whole big bunch of them and can be easy to miss when sexing your plants.
Sometimes I've had to 12/12 just to find out their sex and then throw them back into veg.
Look around the forum and you can find many close-up pictures of female, male, and hermies.
BTW....welcome and good growing!!!.................J

I'll take a shot at it.
Here's a symmetrical gal not ready to flower.
Note that the branches n fans are opposite each other on the main stem.
Attachment 283499
(FYI!
This gal is about 80% indica.
Pure Indica has even fatter fans.)
Here the branches are just starting to grow alternately on this young stud.
Attachment 283501
Here's a bouncing baby boy gone alternate.
A branch on one side, then some distance, then a branch on the other side
I flowered him a little early because he just looked like a boy from day one.
Attachment 283500
Here's an older girl.
Branch, fanleaf, and an aging female pre-flower all on one side of the stem.
About the time your pre-flowers reach this size, is when you need to begin watching the trich heads for ambering.
Attachment 283498
Bottom line, if the fans/branches align at the same position on both sides of the main stem, it's time to wait.
When they start to alternate, and, they are half the height you want at finish, flower them.
If that's not clear, you are out of luck and will just have to do a lot of reading.
Aloha,
Wee 'zard

Light schedule is 12/12 after six weeks of veg. Because of inadequate overhead space. I didn't want to flip them until they were mature enough. But had no choice. I came into this not knowing what I was doing. Which I regret. But...No reason to stop now, right? Haha.
