Lights for vegetation advice

Hi,

Just wondering if it is possible to use a white flourescent light fitting for the 4 week vegetation stage? Currently using 2 x 400w HID but looking to replace with something effective but cheap to purchase and operate.

i have been running 3 300 watt cfl's plus one t5 and 2 smaller cfls for my vegetative stage and they r doing wonderful! there starting to show signs of flowering so im going to move 2 12/12 soon ganna get more cfl's and try them all the way through flower and c how the batch comes out!

A fluorescent light will do good for vegetation stage, try to get cool white, plants like the extra blue hue to grow tight nodes (grow bushier)
