    Time to harvest? PICS!

It's only been 4 weeks of flowering but it's a tiny plant grown on a 5-inch pot, and the trichomes seem to be getting milky... Is it going to be ready in a few days or a couple of weeks?

ps. There's also pics of my other 3 plants, 2 of them doing pretty bad, but it was down to soggy soil (bad mix from the start) and overfertilization (probably as result of poor drainage), I took them out of their pots , carefully ran the faucet over the roots for a while and then trasnplanted them to a bit of fresh and sandy soil today, I thought being a weed it would like clayish soil, now I know they like quality, fluffy, very well drained soil.

I am guessing that you don't know the strain....

    7-9 weeks for indica dominant
9-11 weeks for sativa dominant (some strains can take up to 13 weeks)

and they look like sativa dominant.

Nooooo! Wait until 40-60% of the white hair thingys (I am at a loss when it comes to the technical term) have turned amber or reddish-brown. I'd say 3 and a half more weeks? And unless you have a 60x handheld microscope that shows the trichs as being milky, I would say that your guess might be flawed. It looks sativa...and I don't think 4 weeks is enough. It usually takes 7-10 weeks in flowering. A bit shorter if it's indica.

Thanks Richard, it's my first time!!! I'm only learning and I'm absolutely sure I will have much better results next time. Yeah, it's bagseed grown organically btw and only fertilized with pee and rotten banana peels. Oh... and the best thing... it doesn't smell like weed AT ALL there's nothing but a faint CHOCOLATE ICECREAM smel!!!! It's smells insanely delicious, there's also a hint of mango there.

Anyway, that's what I thought, a friend of mine who has grown before insisted they where a few days from harvest, but I was sure I had a couple weeks to go. Do notice the full body pics are not the ones that have the buds, I don't have a full body pic here of it but I will post one soon. It looks a bit more of an indica to me and I can't even imagine how sugary it's gonna get!!!!

    Thanks a lot guys!

(Pistils) are what the hairs are called. And NO you cannot go by the Pistils, You need to go to Radioshack or somethin and get a microscope 50 - 100X Zoom:

Once you get this, look at the trichomes and you want 50-80 % Milky and the other 30-50 % Amber, Depends on how couch locked you plan on gettin. The more Amber the more couch lock. This is the real way! Check the FAQ's

This are very precise measurments, just the way I like it. Any idea on the precise ratio of milky to amber for absolute peak potency is? I guess it's down to strain. Do you think these macro pics are close enough to see? Thanks!

50/50, like I, and you said. Depends on strain and what potency you are looking for, more amber = more of a body high, more milky = more of a head high. If you have a local Radioshack, go there and get one of those microscopes. You'll thank me later.. lol

So what would be the minimum of amber trichs for a heady high without compromising max potency? 30%? Do brown pistils correlate? ...and yeah, I intend to dedicate a big chunk of my life to the cultivation of this miracolus plant so I might aswell get the appropriate instruments, thanks!
