Replace 400W HID for LED???
I'm looking at replacing one 400W HID light which I'm currently using to cover two plants in a 4 ft x 4ft space? Ideally want to get maximum yield. Any suggestions please and an idea of price, make, wattage, etc? Seem to be having difficulty getting any good information for purchasing in UK.
Any info greatfully appreciated!!delbwoy77 Reviewed by delbwoy77 on . Replace 400W HID for LED??? Replace 400W HID for LED???
A 120w or 150w square LED will be enough. I am currently using two 209W LEDs in my tent.

Replace 400W HID for LED???
Im using a Prp-Grow 260 and 4 x 20w CFL for heating purposes.
It is a great light in my opinion. You can see the entire grow on Led Logger on wordpress
Hope this helps. I got a fine yield from just 2 plants.

Replace 400W HID for LED???
Would a GrowPanel Pro 600 watt LED be overkill for a 4'9" x 4'9" x 6'7" grow lab? I"m currently running 1000w HPS..

Do not trade off HPS for LED, you said you want maximum yield? Stick with the HPS. If you decide to grow with LED you will be getting some nice popcorn buds, not even worth it IMHO.
Stick with the HPS, you will not be let down. LED is severely overpriced and the benefits do not outweigh the savings on electricity.
HPS is still the preferred method to growing indoors because there is a pattern occurring, it's called success. The light penetrates the entire canopy of the plant, giving you higher yield throughout. LED does not, unless you line the room with them which I assume will cost you alot more than you bargained for. HPS systems are the closest in regards to light spectrum to that of natural sunlight, which is what the plants want... surprise surprise... LED's only output certain light, lacking all the other light thrown off by the sun.
To me, LED systems are just a way for companies to buy cheap parts and sell overpriced equipment, thus turning a huge profit at the expense of fools that are taken aback by the flashy new technology which doesn't even compare in the least to HPS..
@ ugh, you wanna trade that 1000W HPS for some LED's, I will gladly take that off your hands if you have no use for it. haha.
EDIT: I know I will most likely get flamed here from the LED bandwagoners. Just saying that HPS has and always will surpass that of LED's, I would be more than happy to take on someone with the best LED setup to my 1000W HPS, lets see who yields higher every time. I only have to buy one fixture... How many do you need?

If I was the one that made LED lights and sold them of course I wouldn't make a video that would potentially hurt my sales.. With things like this they manipulate, such as let the LED veg alot longer and the HPS shorter... Of course you will get the results you WANT, vs the ACTUAL results. HPS has and always will be better, and guess what.... I am not selling them... I know from experience that they are better because I have used both.
Odds are that anyone that backs LED's over HPS is either ignorant, misinformed, selling the LED's or is advocating for someone selling the LED's... I mean cmon, you never see people advocating to sell HPS units on here because they sell themselves.
Don't you find it a little biased that they are the ones selling them and conducting the tests, of course it will be in their favor because they want you to buy their garbage and make money on you... cmon man use your head..
I would post numerous threads made by users asking this very question on other boards but that is not allowed here, so you guys can just google Which is better LED or HPS, there are COUNTLESS threads on it, and HPS wins hands down every time.

Replace 400W HID for LED???
I'm not here to argue or have long drawn out debates. Just new to this and looking for a little insight... I've been looking to increase the amount of light in my room, but adding another light isn't an opition for me..
Also with being sort of a newb I'm wondering wether or not to change my bulb for better results. The one I am using came to me second hand and I've used it for two cycles. Or do you let them die out before changing?
