I want to compst my own fertilizer for my plants
Compost is compost, no special ingredients needed. In general you want to keep a 1:1 mix of green ingredients (grass clippings, vegetable scraps) and brown ingredients (shredded paper, sawdust from untreated wood). You'll want to avoid adding meats, grease and dairy but rinsed, crushed egg shells are fine. Composting happens the quickest between 104 and ~135 degrees. Purchasing a thermometer to determine the temperature at the center of your pile will help you judge when to turn it. Best of luck to you
