any takers on a debate........?
thx need some intellectual stimulation.....
given the idea that plants use chlorophyll A and B, and C which peak at different frequencies, would it be more better for the plant if light was specifically oriented to 1 peak (say chlorophyll a or b in blue or c) or would the plant like that same amount of light was divided by 3 and applied to both peaks.Native¥organicfarmer Reviewed by Native¥organicfarmer on . specific or distributed lighting spectrum any takers on a debate........? thx need some intellectual stimulation..... given the idea that plants use chlorophyll A and B, and C which peak at different frequencies, would it be more better for the plant if light was specifically oriented to 1 peak (say chlorophyll a or b in blue or c) or would the plant like that same amount of light was divided by 3 and applied to both peaks. specific or distributed lighting spectrum
However, plants are frequently seen with foliage of a variety of other colours from shades of red, brown, purple through to black. These colours are caused by other pigments such as betacyanins and anthocyanins produced in response to environmental stress, as a mechanism for filtering intense sunlight or as the endpoint of selective breeding of desirable cultivars. These pigments are incidental to photosynthesis, but may well only be produced in plants grown in the strongest light especially with a high blue and ultraviolet content.
