Mites cause white spots to appear on top of the leafs than the leafs start to exhibit yellow spots. If you are unsure, look at the underside of the lower fan leafs and look for lil (Tiny) brown and white spots. If you look close enough, the spots should move very slowly. If you see webbing or any of these spots, you may have spider mites. If this is the case you need to NEEM the entire plant, (underside and tops of leafs), and all along the stems. I use AzaMax

I looked under the leaves, I didn't see anything movie, they just looked like brown spots from the underside, but like yellowish from the top... I raised the light to 9 inches cause I thought it might be heat, when I raised it, the next morning I saw a big growth in the size of lower buds... if that matters? (125 watt CFL)
