Any ideas on what is causing this or what I am doing wrong??

Is it from my previous trimming and some bad mojo got into the stem from trimming??

I hate to say it, But ya. The weaker part of the stem is most likely due to the trimming you did. Trimming of the large fan leafs reduces the amount of energy needed to produce a large and healthy stem. If the last plant wasn't completely broken apart, the bend would have been fine. It would of LST'd itself.. lol. In the future do NOT trim any full leafs. Try trimming fingers in order to allow light to get to the lower branches. Just keep in mind a strong plant starts with, and needs a LOT of energy/sun/light. And of course its dark time to go thru photosynthesis. Its during the night hours that the plant does its growing. You'll notice it in the morning when the light comes on.

Good luck, Keep us informed

PS. If you are still running the pumps 24/7, get a timer and run it for 15 min every 2 to 4 hours. She looks over watered. And 1 other thing. You need to get something to cover your hydroton, the algae is caused by light. If you can find something to reduce the amount of light reaching your medium. You'll reduce algae growth. Try an old butter tub lid or cut a black trash bag and put it over the hydroton.
