Yup..a college education,is respectable..but I'm curious..how do you git into college over there ? Is it based on yer own merits,or is it a matter of having some socialist dude, decide if yer worthy or not ?

Have a good one ...
Well, you know the school system over here is totally different to the US.. and I live on an island, not on the mainland, so its slightly different here than in the rest of the UK..

anyway, there are no universities over here as the island is way too small.. the only 'higher education' available here is a place called Highlands College.. (you can retake your GCSE's [equivelant of a highschool diploma], take A-Levels, do courses in mechanics, carpentry, etc... they offer courses in pretty much anything you can think of) then once youve gone there you can go on to university in England.. So basically, anybody can get in to the college here, but preference will be given to good students, as opposed to people who constantly skipped school, etc.. But as there is only one college on the island, sometimes there aren't enough places there for all the people who want to go there, so i'm not sure how they decide who gets to go.. i'll find out all about it when I have my interview next Wednesday
