The main damage obeserved in the lungs of people that only smoke cannabis is that cells that line the airways that are usually coated with cilia have become identical to skin cells. Other than that, the irritation will eventuall go away unless you've sm0oke massive amounts for a long ass time.

depends how fucked up they are, if u reached the point that u have a constant cough spitting out some grey phlegm (hahah that word is funny) then theres a chance atleast there was for me, i quit smoking cigs for around a month or 2 but never left the grass, the grey stuff and the cough went away.
