23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS

I'm guessing the purple haze is your personal favorite of the strains you're growing? Can't blame you, shit looks tastey as hell, haha, its a shame we don't live in a free country where we could openly share finished products without fear of the narco guerillas following you around. As for my strain, I actually do not know, haha. It was bagseed planted outdoors in a pot last spring as kind of a joke so I didn't actually take care of it until it got further into flowering and I realized... wow for bagseed this stuff kinda looks good... So I actually started to take good care of it through the rest of flowering and it turned out amazing. Easily one of my favorites that I've ever had anywhere, which was an excellent surprise to me... unfortunately I didn't take any clones from it so in an attempt to save the genetics I revegged it after harvesting, and now that is my big mama I believe I showed you pics of. It was a real interesting way to obtain good genetics but I guess I got really lucky. I don't think its very common to grow bagseed and end up with a plant of greater quality than most professionally bred seed strains. Perhaps its totally new and unique... but I'll never know without knowing who the parents were

Also in all fairness I'm not sure exactly what it was for bagseed, and there is a REALLY slight chance it was actually a good seed because I found it in my backpack which I hadn't touched in a couple years. So I have no idea what kinda bud it came from or anything like that. I just know its a girl, and she does her job well haha, that and it has a very distinct trainwreck odor along with something else that is tough to explain.

I posted my last post before seeing the full plant pictures, but nice pics, they look great. I like the thumbs up haha:thumbsup:. How tall are they? They appear to be pretty tall. How long now until you planned to harvest those? And how many total days have they been in 12/12?

Mah lady featured in this thread has pumped out a lot of single blade leaves throughout the top cola recently, which is unfortunate. I don't think this is normal behavior for this strain, at least not to the extent that it has so I have been trying to think of a potential cause for that. All I can think of is some possible light disturbance that I wasn't aware of during dark times, or perhaps heat stress. Have you noticed anything like this going on with certain plants? And if so did you come up with a good reason why? Anyways, not a real big deal at all, but fewer leaves is much better than more leaves when it comes to trimming time lol. I'll take some pictures of it to see if anyone else thinks the leaf production is excessive or not.

I havent measured em , but i believe they are around 36" to 40" tall. I started 12/12 on 1/01/12 so roughly 70 days. They are on their 3rd day final flush, so another 10 days and ill chop em. I only like the Purple Haze cause I didnt belivie it would turn purple.. haha. But the Sour D, and Sour Willie have the biggest nugz, and they are turning purple blackish color due to the low night temps. Around 47 - 50 degrees.

Been meaning to ask.. How do you harves, dry, and cure...?

The thumbs up is a buddy standin outside the tent throwin up the thumbs up. He's been a stundent, learnin all he can from me.. lol

How specific are you wondering about my harvest/dry/cure process? Basically put I wait to harvest until most pistils have turned orange and trichs are right around <50% amber. I trim everything by hand, by myself and I like to get pretty detailed with the trimming. I dry them in the dark in a large cabinet where the room temp stays in the mid-low 60s with a humidity of about 20%. They'll stay hanging there, keeping as many branches in tact as I can, for about 5-7 days depending on the size of the branch and thickness of stem, I just kinda keep an eye on them and take them off the branch individually as they dry to a certain consistency that I like. After that I just load them into mason jars, filling the jar loosely with buds and keep them in the same cabinet for the curing process. For curing its always a minimum of two weeks but more like a month+ if I can. After the first couple weeks they don't get opened more than once a day unless there is a reason to. Usually two weeks is enough to where it recovers its good smell and an evenly dried core to the touch.

Personally I am very picky with the moisture content of my bud. Which is why I never really smoke anyone elses bud that I know, because anymore or any less moisture makes a big difference to me. Some people never let it cure enough to relieve the necessary moisture, and some people let it dry wayy too much prior to curing.. if they ever even cure it properly, idk.

Killfrenzi you'll be happy to know that I purchased my first bag of FF ocean forest yesterday. Just out of curiosity I was wondering what you did to mix it, if anything at all. I figured I'm going to mix in 20% perlite, but thats it, just so I can see how this stuff works out for me.

Thanks for the info , I just needed someone else opinion on the whole curing, drying, harvest process. I usually mix the FFoF with 20%-30 Perelite, don't feed nutes for the first 2 weeks. People have a tendency to NOT pay attention to the label and forget that FFoF has nutes in it, and then complain about nute burn.

Just keep an out for burn if you use nutes.

Oh yeah I'm not concerned about the nute burn issue, I'm used to happy frog which actually has quite a bit more organic nutrient content, so much so that happy frog has a low base ph. I was just more so curious about the drainage since all soil mixes are different. I went with about 15-20% perlite and no other additives. Do you by chance know off hand the base/stock soil ph level of ocean forest? I'm guessing its around 6.5-6.8?

Also I've lost track of how many days its been... but have you started choppin ladies down yet? I would hope that you'd post pictures as soon as you did and I wouldn't even need to ask, I'm just excited to see what you end up with haha.

I believe it says the pH on the back of the bag somewhere..? I believe it is around the 6.8 area.

I plan on choppin the ladies down on Sunday... and puttin the six younger ones in Flower. The clones are now 25" tall and by Sunday they should be close to 30"... And my girl jus brought her 16.1 Megapixel Camera over so I can get down and dirty with the pics. Soooo excited!!!
