23 Days of Flowering 12/12 Pics - Weekly Updates - soil, FF, 550W HPS
Nice pics, I don't have any plants in the really fun stage of growth right now sadly like you do =(. Just the one at the moment that I posted pictures of to begin with. Its the furthest along in flowering, the others are only about a week in. And the one I posted earlier isn't quite at that fun stage yet where the buds really start swelling up and colors start changing and you get a much better look at what the final product is going to be like. The stage mine is in now, I kinda consider it to be the generic flowering stage since it doesn't show much of its unique characteristics yet, but I do have one of every strain I'm testing out in flowering right now so in a few weeks I'll have some fun variety to look at.
Anyways, thanks for posting more pics, at first I sat there trying to think of something funny and clever to say as a joke to you about them but I just couldn't think of anything "mean" to say. You should label the pictures in the 2nd post so I can tell which strain is which. I meant to ask you before but I forgot... you said you grow under two 600W HPS/MH systems... are those each dual bulb systems where you use both MH and HPS throughout the entire grow? Or at least during floweing you keep the MH light going? Also how do yours function.. meaning, do they use 1 600W HPS and 1 600MH in the same unit? Or are they 300W of each making a total of 600W's. Or am I just wrong all around the board here? haha
Last request is... if you could take some extra bonus pics of the sour diesel for me.. I'd appreciate it. All kinds of angles and what not lol. Full plant and close ups and such. I am curious to see the shape in which it grew at, and if you did any topping or LSTing or any training methods at all? Oh and yeah feel free to donate that sour diesel harvest to me, I won't get too upset about having to hold onto all of it for you. Perhaps a box full of clones too, and a few winning lottery tickets. If you could do those... small favors for me, I think we might be great friends someday! haha

And to help you understand the lights, I have 2, 600w Mh/Hps Ballasts. Meaning the ballast is switchable between Mh and HPS. I can change bulbs w/ out having to use a different ballast. Just take the HPS out and put in the Mh. In flowering I switch bulbs weekly. Ill take out 1 HPS and switch it for the Mh. Always having an HPS in 1 ballast. Oh and if you are wondering what type of ballast? They are Electronic, meaning the ballast detects what type of Gas is being fired inside the bulb and provides the correct firing arc.

Lookin good, I was just wondering about the lights because I see some people using the dual ballasts that run both types of lights, rather than switching, and I wonder how people like that. The next round I put into flowering I am going to try out adding a MH to the flowering cycle to see if it reduces stretching, or the distance between nodes that is created during the earlier flowering stages. Or I guess if there happens to be other improvements on quality that happen from the added blue spectrum lighting.
If I understand you correctly.. are you saying that one week you'll run two HPS, next week run one HPS and one MH, then the next week back to all HPS? Or do you just flip flop the MH and HPS between the two lamps for some other reason?

I run MH for the first two weeks of 12/12 to reduce stretch and then switch to HPS. I also have a SG 602 LED running with my 1000 watt. I get 2 lbs from a 7 by 7 room.

Interesting, that was the goal behind me wanting to experiment with adding the MH to the flower room, reduce the stretch. I start different plants at different times so I planned to keep the MH in with the HPS the entire time, same amount of HPS, would just be added MH light. Did you notice much of a difference when you started doing that? Or have you always flowered this way? I'll post some new pics tonight hopefully or tomorrow afternoon. Gotta finish chopping down and throwing away a couple plants first...

Oh by the way Killfrenzi... our messages kinda got me thinking... and I bought a couple scratch off tickets at the gas station yesterday. I spent $6, and I won $7 on one of the tickets. Now I lost the damn $7 ticket, haha, let that be a lesson to you. Not sure what the lesson is.. you can figure that out. All I know is that I'm pissed, I don't buy lotto tickets, and now I did and won a dollar, and then it magically disappears on me. At least it wasn't a $200,000,000 ticket or something.

Oh and your ? about the light. I think I started using the MH too late in this cycle to notcie any difference. Its the first time Ive had 2 ballsats to do it with.. Lol Ill see when my 6 lil babies go in flower in a few more weeks.

I'll be adding a MH in this weekend, along with a few new plants that are ready to start flowering, so I'll keep you posted how those compare to ones without the MH in flowering. I'll be using clones from strains that are already in flower now, so it should be easy to see a difference if there is one. I log photos of each plant every few days, so I can post some comparison pics. It'll be a few weeks I suppose before anything could really be seen though.

ive done many case studie reverts and found they produce 25% less yield and the time it req is not worth it so always clone any introduction to grow and number it, indoor or out, one studie took Purple Nepal (exotics) and from harvest flower, took out side in April planted in ground next to a non reverted clone and not only was the non revert faster more vigorous it produced its normal weight in/out. But, however if, could keep the inter-nodal spacing when when you clone after trigger, right after (flower shows sex) , i would do it that way but again if in situation but again case studie 25% less weight compared to mom cutting again.
Ignorance of all things is an evil neither terrible nor excessive, nor yet the greatest of all; but great cleverness and much learning, if they be accompanied by a bad training, are a much greater misfortune. Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.

I think you misunderstood what I mean, or I guess I didn't explain it clearly enough. I mean I'm using clones that were taken from plants back in veg state, and the clones have been growing for a while now while the original mothers of the clones were moved into flower. So the clones I have I always take before I start flowering, I just meant that the originals were in flower without a MH and I'll soon have clones of those ready to try out with an added MH light in the room.
