Right, I'm not talking about getting real specific, but there are some real basic concepts that just don't come naturally with common knowledge when starting out a grow. These basic concepts apply to all strains, even though they may vary some, its getting people going in the right direction so they can tinker and toy with their grow to perfect conditions. Some things that sound good when starting out, can be destructive to any and all strains, or vice versa. I would never give anyone any advice that I don't know to be true, and if I do I explain its still experimental for me and that they should only apply it if they're looking to experiment themselves. Also pointing someone in the right direction at least gives them the info they need to further research the issue for themselves instead of going blindly to the internet, which is a dangerous place, haha. I can't begin to describe the "interesting" theories I found when I was starting out.
