My first hit was at age 14, I had no clue in 1975 it would help me with my mental state allowing me to focus more on the things in the classroom. It helped me to get through school almost on the same level as the other kids. When my friends were dropping out of school, I stayed in school. One would think, his a pot smoker and will follow his friends to doing nothing. In actuallity, my friends had problems at home, most following their older siblings.
Just like mental illness, it has a stigma based on movies, and what people lack to understand about the condition. The same is true for people who smoke Cannibis, look at the commercials, movies, and vintage film from the past. What do you see? Its not a good image. People have see and heard enough to associate with it the same way they do with mental illness.
To get laws to change, the images associated with getting high has to change. The marketing isn't the best. (I know what I can do when high and I havn't found anybody who can perform on my mental level high or not high) So, when I see anything on tv or documentary there isn't anything informing people who could say "YES" to reform or legalizing it based on what they know from poor information.
Are you the kind of person who can't function in society when high, then that needs to change. We have to prove to people being high isn't a high in the clouds, stony effect where everybody is talking like Cheech and Chong and I do it because of my problems, so leave me along. Lets get out to prove to the world a person can function on any level stone, high, medicated or whatever they want to call it. Nothing is going to happen until, somebody proves it not like being intoxicated, a person can function in any situation.
Show me film footage of people getting high, then going to work, or running a huge company or doing something in sociaty with people around unaware of the person being high. When I'm high people have no clue, not even those close to me can't tell, not even my wife. there really isn't anything a person can't do once they apply themselves.
It will never be legalized until somebody wakes up and realizes any media attention needs to be focused on people doing daily activites while under the influence. This people in AMerica will have a different image, then the one most know and associate it wth hippies or sitting around today smoking it, which is what we see on tv.
Somebody needs to do a film where people are going throughout the day performing all kinds of task without complications. People in America need to know more then just what they grew up believing. If, you get in the right fame of mind, creating great habits, then use Cannibis, people will not knwo you are using it. But, to have poor habits and use it people will most likely pick up on it. We can create a change, once we understand what needs to change.
