Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works, Vol. II" is absolutely amazing. Definitely one of my favorite albums.

sounds like techno/trance/dance to me....could be because the name ambient was mentioned and that automaticly makes me think of techno since like 100000000000 songs of techno have the name ambient in them....

"Selected Ambient Works, Vol: II" isn't techno. Not really knowing how to describe it, I'd say it's more of a collection of freeform soundscapes; no beats at all and barely any motifs, like a soundtrack to a really fucked up dream. To me, a lot of the tracks evoke desolate images of nuclear winter or something.

yeah... aphex twin is ambient and techno, but the others i mentioned seem like theyre designed to be listened to while stoned/tripping, with no real form.

bottom line is, its great music to chill out to

no matter what i listen to i have never been able to get into techno. im more of a rock kinda guy

thats me but....i like techno when i have a real uppity high and i feel like tripping...kinda like now buti can't play music right now...oh well there's always tommorow.
