ufo led lights yes or no ?
And to answer farmers question. $1,000 would replace your HID systems. Check out 2 x Pro-Grow 400 on the hydroponics hut website. They have grow logs just like mine for each of their products. These LEDs work on 33% of the power of HID. How bad.
Here is a link to a guy who is doing numerous grow logs using the Pro-Grow 400

This guy knows his stuff.

Can you do this with just any ballast? I thought it was only sunsystem ballasts that had this capacity?

Just about any light you buy these days will be chinese made. The key is to find a reputable company that stands behind their product and has a distributor in your country. That's part of doing your homework. If you end up with 1/2 watt diodes on a split chip then who cares about the manufacturer... and realize that while the diode may indeed last for 20K hours, the parts that drive and cool them will not. Be happy if you get 6 - 8 years. I run 2x Welthink C-150 LEDs. The are 3w diodes on single chips at 90 degree angle. Both of my lights failed after 18 months. Identical failures in the transformer design. Welthink replaced them both within 2 days. No questions asked. Not sure you'll get that out of your average e-bay reseller, eh?

In regards to the splitter according to the supplier, "it must be used with Pulse start bulbs only and magnetice ballast only(no electronic/digital ballast). Split every 1000 watt HPS lighting system (with magnetic ballast) into two 600w lighting systems!"

I think it would take much more than $1000 to replace 3x600w digital systems and the 2 8 tube t-5 panels in my flower room with equivalent LED systems.. Technology will have to drop in price for me.
