Canna Nutrient Line
Hey all,
I'm new to Canna's nutes (and the forum tooand since we added them to our shops repertoire quite recently, I thought I'd give them a go. I'm hoping that someone would enlighten me about the Canna's nutes, as I cannot find enough information bout em on the web (Canna's site + forums).
After mixing the nutes in the correct order, you have to leave the mixture standing for a couple of hours, according to their instructions: Can anyone tell me how important this is? As I don't always stay at my grow site for longer periods, it would be crucial to me to know how long I have to wait with the mixture before feeding it to my girls.
General opinions about Canna nutes are also HIGHly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. o0Steakmund Reviewed by Steakmund on . Canna nutes work just fine, I think CannaBoost is a bit too expensive though, I picked up a free sample at a show and I didn't find it made much difference,(it is supposed to increase the plants rate of photosynthesis) I have one more bottle spare so I am planning to try it again in the future.
I mix my nutes about an hour or 2 before I use them. I seem to recall that this is what it says on the bottle. I have no idea what difference it makes.
The best feeding charts for Canna nutes that I have found are in my photo album, check them out. The official Canna feeding charts are a bit crap in my opinion, they are not that easy to follow for novice growers. I have used the full range of nutes and also just basic veg+flower nutes and PK. When I use the full range my plants do marginally better, but I think this margin will increase now I have better lighting.
I have also tried Dutch Pro and VitaLink, I have not noticed any noticeable difference in growth over the 3 brands, they have all worked just fine and havn't needed much tweaking to the feeding schedule to get decent results. I am currently using Canna Hydro Vega+Dutch Pro Take Root for veg and Dutch Pro Original Bloom+Dutch Pro Boost for flower, with an occasional dose of cal/mag and sea minerals.

I've been using the Canna line for most of the last year and I've no complaints. Canna is the only brand I've used though so I have no comparison to say its better or worse than the others. I use only their Rhizotonic (only for my clones), Cannavega (for in veg) and Cannaflores and PK13/14 for during flower. I add molasses instead of their overpriced bloom boosters.
I've found that the feeding schedule is different for other parts of the world which is a little annoying but I just checked my bottles (and the schedule) and in the Netherlands at least it says nothing about needing to let the mixed water stand for a couple of hours. I have never done that myself, always mix and water pretty much straight away. So I would say its a case of reading the bottle you get with regards to that.
All in all I'm happy with Canna and have never felt the need to change. It suites both me and the girls, and so long as the girls are happy, so am I
