Boost my reflector?
Hi all, I have a makeshift light reflector I've made up from an old 2sq ft office ceiling light unit and I have a load of reflect-a-grow sheeting left over. I wanted to get peoples opinions on whether it's worth lining the underside of this to help reflect light. Is it worth doing with just my two 125w cfl lights or will it not make any difference?

Great job BTW. If you want to raise the reflectiveness by a few percent you could do the following.
Go out and buy a paint brush a large bottle of Elmer's glue and some Mylar or an emergency blanket.
Paint the underside of the light with Elmer's glue then attach the Mylar or emergency blanket to the underside
and smooth out any bubbles and cut to fit. let it dry over night and the reflector should be more efficient then white paint.
But that's just me.

Great idea and a nice job!
You might try aluminum foil glued to the reflector with the dull side out. But it might

Thanks guys. The reflect-a-gro sheeting is what I have on the walls in the picture. It's supposed to be effective material which is over 96% reflective. So it's better than foil or the white mylar. If it'll help a little,i may as well do it.

I went ahead and did it. I just smeared a load of silicone sealant I had handy all over the underside of the reflector and stuck the reflect-a-grow on. the light definitely bounces around a lot more in there!
